摘要: The present invention is a process for preparing a 4-alkylbenzaldehyde (para-alkylbenzaldehyde). An alkylbenzene, solvated in a solvent comprising at least one aliphatic solvent having in the range of 3 to 15 carbons, is reacted with carbon monoxide, in the presence of an aluminum halide and a hydrogen halide acid. Disproportionation is reduced and proportion of para-alkyl-benzaldehyde is increased with respect to other methods.

摘要: This invention provides a method for minimizing or relieving a sustained casing pressure in an annulus of a wellbore, where the annulus contains a first fluid having a density. The method comprises introducing a second fluid into the annulus. The second fluid has a density greater than the density of the first fluid and the second fluid is immiscible with the first fluid. The method is characterized in that the second fluid comprises at least one halogen-containing organic compound. The halogen-containing organic compound has one or more halogen atoms selected from fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine, with the proviso that at least one of the halogen atoms is chlorine, bromine, or iodine.

摘要: This invention provides nonaqueous electrolyte solutions for lithium batteries which contain one or more brominated flame retardants. The nonaqueous electrolyte solutions comprise i) a liquid electrolyte medium; ii) a lithium-containing salt; and iii) at least one brominated flame retardant. The brominated flame retardant is present in the electrolyte solution in a flame retardant amount, has a boiling point of about 60° C. or higher, and has a bromine content of about 55 wt % or more based on the weight of the brominated flame retardant.
