摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for preparing rigid polyurethane foams, in which method (a) polyisocyanates are mixed with (b) compounds having at least two hydrogen atoms that are reactive with isocyanate groups, (c) optionally a flame retardant, (d) a blowing agent, (e) a catalyst, and (f) optionally auxiliary agents and additives, to form a reaction mixture and are cured to provide the rigid polyurethane foam. Further disclosed herein are a rigid polyurethane foam obtained by the method and a method of using the rigid polyurethane foam in the manufacture of sandwich elements.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for producing rigid polyisocyanurate foams, wherein (A) polyisocyanates are mixed with (B) compounds having isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms, (C) flame retardants, (D) blowing agents, (E) catalyst at an isocyanate index of at least 220 to afford a reaction mixture and cured to afford the rigid polyisocyanurate foam, wherein the component (B) comprises at least one aromatic polyester polyol (b1) and at least one polyether polyol (b2), the polyester polyol (b1) has an average total functionality of ≤3.0 and ≥1.7 and the polyether polyol (b2) has a hydroxyl number of 160-350 mg KOH/g and is produced by alkoxylation of a starter or starter mixture having an average total functionality ≤3.5 and ≥1.5, wherein as the alkylene oxide for producing polyether polyol (b2) at least 80%by weight of ethylene oxide is employed and comprises at least 90% primary hydroxyl end groups and wherein the mass ratio of the component (b1) to component (b2) is ≤3 and ≥1 and the blowing agent (D) comprises chemical and physical blowing agents, wherein the chemical blowing agent is selected from the group consisting of formic acid-water mixtures and formic acid. The present invention further relates to a rigid polyisocyanurate foam obtainable by the process according to the invention.

摘要: Novel polymers are depolymerizable by metathesis of a cleavable unit. As an example, a series of linear and crosslinked polyurethanes were prepared that can be selectively depolymerized under mild conditions. Two unique polyols were synthesized bearing unsaturated units in a configuration designed to favor ring-closing metathesis to five- and six-membered cycloalkenes. These polyols were co-polymerized with toluene diisocyanate to generate linear polyurethanes and trifunctional hexamethylene- and diphenylmethane-based isocyanates to generate crosslinked polyurethanes. The polyol design is such that the ring-closing metathesis reaction cleaves the backbone of the polymer chain. Upon exposure to dilute solutions of Grubbs' catalyst under ambient conditions, the polyurethanes were rapidly depolymerized to low molecular weight, soluble products bearing vinyl and cycloalkene functionalities. These functionalities enabled further re-polymerization by traditional strategies for polymerization of double bonds. This general approach can be expanded to develop a range of chemically recyclable condensation polymers that are readily depolymerized by orthogonal metathesis chemistry.

摘要: Inorganic infrared attenuation agent blends have been developed to improve the thermal insulation properties of polymeric foams such as polystyrene low density foams. The inorganic infrared attenuation agent blends can include two or more metal oxides such as silicon dioxide, manganese (IV) oxide, iron (III) oxide, magnesium oxide, bismuth (III) oxide, cobalt oxide, zirconium (IV) oxide, molybdenum (III) oxide, titanium oxide, and calcium oxide. In some preferred embodiments, the inorganic infrared attenuation agent blends can include four or more of these metal oxides.

The multilayer thermal insulation board includes at least one closed cell foam layer comprising polyurethane and polyisocyanurate having an open cell volume of less than 20% by volume according to ASTM D 6226 and at least one open cell foam layer comprising polyurethane and polyisocyanurate having an open cell volume of greater than 80% by volume according to ASTM D 6226.

The method comprises reacting an isocyanate composition including one or more polyisocyanates and a polyol composition including one or more polyols including one or more aromatic polyester polyols having a hydroxyl functionality of greater than 2 and one or more physical and/or chemical blowing agents including methylal to form a closed-cell and rigid foam configured to retain at least 85% of an initial volume of the closed-cell and rigid foam when exposed to about 97% relative humidity at about 70° C. for at least seven or more days.
