    Abstract: In certain embodiments, a beamsplitter includes a substrate and an interior plane within the substrate. The substrate comprises a transparent material and surfaces that receive light from a sample and an overlay projector and transmit light towards oculars and a camera. The interior plane includes a central partially reflective portion and an outer transmissive portion. The central partially reflective portion: transmits a portion of light to direct light from the sample towards the oculars; reflects a remaining portion of light to direct light from the sample towards the camera; and reflects light to direct light from the overlay projector towards the oculars. The outer transmissive portion: transmits light to direct light from the sample towards the oculars; and transmits light to direct light from the overlay projector towards an aperture that blocks the light.

    Abstract: A printed circuit board comprises a substrate as well as resistors and electrical connections disposed on the substrate. The substrate couples to a video graphics array connector that has pins, including video pins and return pins. A video pin transmits a video signal, and a return pin provides a ground for a corresponding video pin. The substrate has openings, where each opening can receive a pin. The resistors and the electrical connections couple to a subset of the pins to mimic an external video graphics array monitor. The resistors comprise: a red connection resistor that can couple a red video pin with a red return pin; a green connection resistor that can couple a green video pin with a green return pin; and a blue connection resistor that can couple a blue video pin with a blue return pin.

The system includes a light source, a light detector, a processor, a non-transitory machine-readable medium communicatively coupled to the processor, and instructions stored on the non-transitory machine-readable medium. The instructions, when loaded and executed by the processor, cause the processor to project a light, using the light source, onto a plurality of surfaces of an eye; create, using the light detector, an image of a plurality of reflections, each of the plurality of reflections created by reflecting the light off of one of the plurality of surfaces of the eye; determine that the plurality of reflections are in focus in the image; and calculate, based on the determination, a curvature of the plurality of surfaces of the eye based on the image.

    Abstract: In certain embodiments, a binocular system for entering commands includes a computer and a binocular eyepiece. The computer generates a virtual graphical user interface (GUI) with one or more graphical elements, where each graphical element corresponds to a command. The binocular eyepiece includes of eyepieces. Each eyepiece has an optical path that directs an image of an object towards a corresponding eye of a pair of eyes. The optical path of at least one eyepiece directs the virtual GUI towards the corresponding eye. At least one eyepiece is associated with an eye-tracker that tracks movement of the corresponding eye relative to the virtual GUI to yield a tracked eye. The computer interprets movement of the tracked eye relative to the virtual GUI as an interaction with a selected graphical element, and initiates the command corresponding to the selected graphical element.
