    摘要: Some embodiments relate to a user equipment device (UE), and associated methods for performing ROHC header compression on TCP packets with MPTCP option enabled. In some embodiments, a compressor may determine that a first portion of the stream of data packets is formatted according to the transmission control protocol (TCP) with a multipath TCP (MPTCP) option enabled. The compressor may establish context with a corresponding decompressor and may operate in one of three modes of compression based on the context. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor supports decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operate in a first or second mode of compression. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor does not support decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operation in a third mode of compression.

    摘要: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment (UE) device to adaptively enhance the quality of service (QoS) configuration of a bearer of communications conducted over a cellular network between a UE application and a server. The UE may use various information, including a QoS profile associated with the application, to determine requested QoS parameters and/or whether the UE is permitted to request or access enhanced QoS functionality. The UE may then send a request to the cellular network indicating the requested QoS parameters, and the network may adjust the QoS configuration of the bearer in response. The UE and the network may perform routine QoS measurements and exchange information in order to adaptively maintain and optimize the QoS configuration. These techniques may tend to provide more appropriate QoS to the application, which may improve user experience.

The UE may be configured to use the radio for both the first RAT and the second RAT. The UE may receive a first uplink grant corresponding to the first RAT. Prior to completing a process corresponding to the first uplink grant for the first RAT, the UE may communicate using the second RAT. After communicating using the second RAT, the UE may transmit an uplink request for the first RAT instead of completing the process corresponding to the first uplink grant.

    摘要: While operating in connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) mode, a wireless communication device may initiate handover operations when a neighboring base station is determined by the wireless communication device to be a better serving cell than a base station operating as the current serving cell for the wireless communication device. Instead of transmitting a measurement report to the current serving cell, the wireless communication device may select one of the neighboring base stations as the new serving cell, responsive to measurements of the current serving cell and the neighboring cells performed by the wireless communication device during the on-duration of the C-DRX cycle. This enables a longer C-DRX cycle, which leads to the wireless communication device saving more power during non-real-time sensitive background data transmissions, while also avoiding higher handover failure rates and extra Radio Resource Control signaling that may need to be performed as a result of radio link failure.

    摘要: A compressor may obtain information indicative of a transmit delay representative of a time duration that elapses between creation (e.g. by the compressor) of a packet and the transmission of the packet, e.g. over a wireless link. The transmit delay may be determined based at least on information indicative of the uplink capacity of the cellular network. The uplink capacity may be determined/obtained based on the uplink throughput and uplink power headroom. When the compressor receives a negative acknowledgement transmission/packet from the decompressor, if the transmit delay is not greater than a specified threshold value, the compressor may process the received negative acknowledgement packet. If the transmit delay is greater than the specified threshold value, the compressor may first discard the buffered compressed packet scheduled to be transmitted next to the decompressor, and transmit an initialization and refresh (IR) or IR dynamic packet to the decompressor instead.
