Abstract: A system may use a single fiber combining module (SFCM) that combines multiple wavelength channels of different optical technologies over a single fiber. In an example, a SFCM may include a gigabit passive optical network (GPON) port, wherein the GPON passes signals at a first wavelength range; a XGS PON port, wherein the XGS-PON port passes signals at a second wavelength range; a dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) port, wherein the DWDM port passes signals at a third wavelength range, wherein the first frequency range, the second frequency range, and the third wavelength range are different; and a common port connected with a fiber, the common port simultaneously combining signals from the GPON port, XGS-PON port, and the DWDM port.

Abstract: In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for reducing interference on the frequency modulation (FM) radio broadcast band from the G.fast protocol standard spectrum. For instance, in one example, a method includes delivering broadband service to a customer over a spectrum that overlaps with a frequency modulation radio broadcast band, and applying a notch filter to a target frequency of the frequency modulation radio broadcast band based on a profile that is customized for the customer, wherein the notch filter prevents the broadband service from using the target frequency during the delivering.

Abstract: A portable signal testing system includes a transmitter, a first dynamically tunable receiver, a second dynamically tunable receiver, a first indicator and a second indicator. Abstract: A system and method for authentication of a communication device is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, an authentication system can have a controller element that receives from a communication device by way of a packet-switched network an authentication request comprising a first identification (ID) of a virtual gateway and a second ID of the communication device. The virtual gateway and at least one network element of the packet-switched network can be provisioned to have a physical association with each other such that other network elements of the packet-switched network deny services to the virtual gateway when the virtual gateway attempts to operate outside of said physical association. From said physical association and the aforementioned IDs the controller element can authenticate the communication device. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
