Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method for processing an advertising request message, including, receiving an advertising request message from a mobile device, determining if an advertising exchange server associated with the advertising request is permitted to receive enhanced information associated with the mobile device if a service provider is permitted to provide location information associated with the mobile device responsive to determining that the advertising exchange server associated with the advertising request is permitted to receive the enhanced information, responsive to determining that the service provider is permitted to provide location information, adding location information associated with the mobile device to a header of the advertising request message, and transmitting the advertising request message to the advertising exchange server. Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining a coverage area associated with an advertising display device, monitoring presence and motion of a plurality of communication devices with respect to the coverage area to determine a viewing time and a trajectory within the coverage area for each communication device, and associating each device with a user profile that comprises demographic data and preference data. Each user profile is assigned weighting factors based the viewing time and the trajectory for the associated device, thereby generating a weighted user profile for each of a plurality of users. The weighted user profiles are then aggregated to generate a time-dependent audience profile for the coverage area that is associated with an item of advertising content at the advertising display device. The audience profile is analyzed; a new item of advertising content can be selected and displayed. Other embodiments are disclosed.

An illustrative method includes receiving, at a mobile device, a list of preferred combinations of location area codes (“LACs”), cell identifiers (“CIDs”), and times that data access by the mobile device is to be incentivized, determining a current LAC associated with a location area within which the mobile device is currently located, determining a current CID associated with a base transceiver station to which the mobile device is currently connected, determining a current time, and determining if the current LAC, the current cell ID, and the current time are included as a preferred combination in the list. The method also includes providing an indication that data access by the mobile device is incentivized if the current LAC, the current cell ID, and the current time are included in the list as a preferred combination.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for blocking a cloned mobile device by a processor of a network. The processor receives a first registration from a first mobile device at a first location. The first registration includes a device identifier and a phone number. The processor then confirms that a second registration from a second mobile device at a second location includes the device identifier and the phone number and calculates a first fraud score for the first mobile device and a second fraud score for the second mobile device. The processor then determines that the second mobile device is the cloned mobile device, when the second fraud score exceeds the first score, and blocks the cloned mobile device from registering on the network.
