Abstract: A display device and an electronic control unit are included in a vehicle. A graphical user interface of the display device is configured to display a graphic display object. The electronic control unit is configured to receive an orientation signal of a vehicle element. The orientation signal includes information about at least one of a position and an orientation of the vehicle element being in at least one of a first element position and a first element orientation. The electronic control unit is configured to adjust a position of the graphical user interface as a function of, or based on, the orientation signal, such that a position of the graphical user interface relative to the vehicle element is within a predefined tolerance.

Abstract: A display surface of a self-luminous screen element is divided into first and second display regions by a bend region. A selective shielding unit transmits light from the screen element along a preferred direction and blocks light along a blocking direction and/or deflects light from the blocking direction. When installed in a motor vehicle, the display device faces a surface region at a distance from the screen element on which a reflection of the display content displayed on the second display region is visible from a predetermined viewing point. In this case, the preferred direction of the selective shielding unit in the second display region is oriented toward the surface region and the blocking direction in the second display region is oriented toward the predetermined viewing point.

Abstract: A control device of a display and operating device specifies a graphical configuration of a display element to be displayed by the display device. Based on the specified graphical configuration, at least one light wave parameter for a respective light wave of a group of light waves is ascertained. A totality of the light wave parameters describes an interference pattern which describes an at least partial superposition of the light waves for generating an image representation of the display element. An interference pattern signal which describes the totality of the ascertained light wave parameters is generated and the generated interference pattern signal is transferred to an interference output device of the display and operating device. Based on the transferred interference pattern signal, the interference output device generates a light wave interference, and an output of a real image of the display element is displayed.

Abstract: A display having at least two display surfaces, a controller and a communication interface for receiving charge state signals are provided in a display device. Each charge state signal describes the respective charge state of one of multiple electrical consumer devices. The control device determines the charge state of each electrical consumer device based on the charge state signals received. Then the control device generates image signals, each defining an image representing one of the detected charge states and transmits the image signals to the display. The image of each detected charge state is displayed on a display surface assigned to the respective electrical consumer device. The display device may be part of a household appliance, or an item of furniture.

As a result, an environment of the display panel may be visible in the display panel, depending on the degree of light transmittance. The control device is configured to individually set a respective light transmittance to a predetermined degree for each of the multiplicity of predetermined sections of the display panel.

Abstract: A display device includes a pixel matrix configured to emit light, a first display screen which faces in a first direction, a second display screen which faces in a second direction, and a controller. Abstract: A display panel has a first and second layers and a control unit. The first layer is a pixel matrix. The control unit is designed to actuate at least one pixel element for displaying at least one graphic display object. In a respective non-actuated state each pixel element is transparent. The second layer is partitioned into predetermined primary subareas each having an adjustable degree of light transmission. The primary subareas are separated by a primary space. The control unit is adapted to adjust a respective light transmission to a predetermined individual degree for each of the predetermined primary subareas independent of each other. The display panel also has a third layer designed to attenuate light in the primary space.

Abstract: A display screen unit of a display device includes a display surface having a plurality of subareas, and a sight protection element configured to set a degree of transparency for each of the plurality of subareas. The display device further includes a back lighting module having at least one illumination element directed to the display screen unit, and a controller configured to set the display screen unit in a display mode, in which the sight protection element sets the degree of transparency for each of the plurality of subareas. The controller may be configured to provide a back light by controlling the back lighting module based on a movement of the display screen unit from a stowed position to a deployed position.
