    摘要: Disclosed are a backlight unit and a display apparatus. The display apparatus including: an image receiver receiving an image signal; an image processor processing an image signal received by the image receiver; a display panel displaying an image signal processed by the image processor into an image; a plurality of light guide plates disposed corresponding to divided display regions of the display panel respectively and providing light to the display regions respectively; and a light source module selectively disposed between adjacent light guide plates and radiating light to a lateral side of the light guide plates, if the light source module is not disposed between a first light guide plate and a second light guide plate which are adjacent each other among the plurality of light guide plates, light being radiated to the first light guide plate and the second light guide plate in opposite directions.

    摘要: A light emitting diode (LED) driver circuit is provided. The LED driver circuit includes an LED the LED; a power unit which provides a current to the LED through an inductor; a dimming switch which is connected to the LED and bypasses the current provided to the LED; an input unit which receives brightness information of the LED; a logic unit which calculates reference currents for each driving mode according to the received brightness information; a current control unit which controls the power unit to provide the current based on the driving mode and the calculated reference currents to the inductor; and a switch control unit which switches the dimming switch on if the driving mode of the LED driver circuit is switched to the dimming mode.

The backlight apparatus includes N first switch units to switch a plurality of currents flowing in respective N light emitting element arrays according to an input brightness control signal, N second switch units to switch a plurality of currents flowing in respective N capacitors according to the input brightness control signal, and a reference current generation unit to generate and output a reference current based on the input brightness control signal. An inverter unit adjusts a total current supplied to all of the light emitting element arrays in total to be equal to the reference current if the total current is different from the reference current.
