摘要: A power transmitting mechanism transmits power from an engine to a drive shaft of a compressor. A pulley is supported by the compressor and is coupled to the engine. A hub is attached to the drive shaft. Rollers are located on the pulley. Elastic transmission arms are located between the pulley and the hub. The distal end of each arm is curved, and the proximal end is coupled to the hub. When the rollers are engaged with the arms, power is transmitted between the pulley and the hub. When, due to excessive torque, the rollers escape from the corresponding arm, power transmission between the pulley and the hub is disconnected. The distal ends of the arms are movable in the radial direction. When the rollers disengage from the corresponding arms, the distal ends of the arms move radially such that the pulley and the hub relatively rotate without interference by the arms.

摘要: A power transmission mechanism has a first rotating member rotating around an axis, a second rotating member rotating around the axis and an elastic member located between the first rotating member and the second rotating member. The first rotating member has a first rotating member surface, and the second rotating member has a second rotating member surface. The elastic member has at least a protrusion contacting at least the first rotating member surface. The protrusion extends in a circumferential direction of the first rotating member. The protrusion has gradually tapering shape toward the first rotating member surface. The elastic member is deformed by compression as the elastic member engages the first rotating member surface and the second rotating member surface by rotation of the first rotating member, thereby causing relative rotation of the first rotating member and the second rotating member.

摘要: When an electric appliance unit functions as an electric motor, a rotary shaft is rotated by electric current supplied to the electric appliance unit. When the electric appliance unit functions as a generator, the generator generates electricity as the rotary shaft rotates. A first rotation permitting mechanism is located between the rotor and the rotary shaft to permit the rotor and the rotary shaft to rotate relative to each other. A one-way clutch is located between the rotor and the rotary shaft. The one-way clutch permits the rotary shaft to rotate in one direction relative to the rotor and prevents the rotary shaft from rotating in the other direction relative to the rotor. A second rotation permitting mechanism is located between the housing and the rotor. The second rotation permitting mechanism permits the rotor to rotate relative to the housing. Power transmitted from the external drive source to the rotor is transmitted to the rotary shaft via the one-way clutch. The rotor is supported by the housing with the second rotation permitting mechanism.

摘要: An air-conditioning system for a vehicle, including a refrigerant circuit and an engine, has a battery, a compressor, an electric motor and a load torque control mechanism. The battery supplies electric power. The compressor is operative to compress refrigerant gas for the air-conditioning system. The electric motor is electrically connected to the battery. The motor is driven due to the electric power, and is operatively coupled to drive the compressor when the motor is energized. The load torque control mechanism responsive to the operating condition of the engine to control the load torque of the compressor below a predetermined value during times when the motor is driving the compressor.

摘要: A mechanical rotational device includes a housing. An end portion of a rotary shaft protrudes from a front wall of the housing. An electric rotational device is coaxial with the rotary shaft and is coupled to the end portion of the rotary shaft. The electric rotational device functions as at least one of a motor and a generator. A rotational member is coupled to the rotary shaft and has a power transmitting mechanism for transmitting power between the rotational unit and an external device. A one-way clutch is located in the power transmitting path between the rotary shaft and rotational member. The one-way clutch is located inward of the rotational member. The electric rotational device is located on or forward of the housing. At least part of the electric rotational device is located outward of the power transmitting mechanism.

摘要: A compressor having a discharge chamber into which compressed refrigerant gas is discharged, a discharge passage connected to the discharge chamber, an oil separation device that centrifugally separate oil from the refrigerant gas, an oil reservoir chamber that communicates with a separation chamber through an oil passage and retains the oil separated from the refrigerant gas, and a filter provided between the separation chamber and the oil passage is disclosed. The oil reservoir chamber communicates with a low pressure zone in the compressor the pressure of which is lower than the pressure in the discharge chamber. The oil reservoir chamber thus supplies the separated oil to the low pressure zone. The oil separation device is arranged in the discharge passage in such a manner as to define the separation chamber. The oil separation device centrifugally separate the oil from the refrigerant gas by causing swirling of the refrigerant gas that has been sent to the separation chamber. The filter extends in a swirling direction of the refrigerant gas in the separation chamber.

摘要: Refrigerant gas is introduced into a suction chamber through a suction line. Refrigerant gas is allowed to flow from the crank chamber into the suction chamber through an outlet line. An open degree adjustment valve (34) has a first valve body for adjusting an open degree of the suction line and a second valve body for adjusting an open degree of the outlet line. The first valve body and the second valve body are connected to each other. The first valve body moves in such a manner as to increase the open degree of the suction line when the difference between the pressure in the suction chamber and the pressure in the crank chamber decreases, and reduce the open degree of the suction line when the difference between the pressure in the suction chamber and the pressure in the crank chamber increases. Thus, variation of gas pressure is reliably suppressed while maintaining favorable starting performance of the compressor.
