摘要： A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for discs includes a housing unit housing a large number of discs, a recording and/or reproducing unit on which one of the discs held within a large number of disc holders provided in the housing unit is selectively loaded, and a transporting mechanism for transporting the disc held within a selected one of the holders of the housing unit to the recording and/or reproducing unit. The disc transporting mechanism detects whether or not the disc is held in the holder. A detection switch is activated when no disc is present in the holder. The housing unit includes a plurality of the holders positioned radially such that the disc surfaces are held upright. The selected disc held in the holder of the disc transporting mechanism is transported by the transporting mechanism in the upright position to the disc reproducing unit and loaded therein.

摘要： A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for discs including a housing unit housing a large number of discs, a recording and/or reproducing unit on which one of the discs held within a large number of disc holders provided in the housing unit is selectively loaded and a transporting mechanism for transporting the disc held within a pre-set one of the holders of the housing unit to the recording and/or reproducing unit. In the course of transporting the disc, the disc transporting mechanism detects whether or not the disc is held in the holder. The housing unit include a plurality of the holders for radially holding the discs with the disc surfaces being erected upright. The disc held in the holder is transported by the transporting mechanism in the upstanding position as far as the disc reproducing unit and there loaded. The recording and/or reproducing apparatus for disc-shaped recording media has a group designating unit for designating the information of a desired one of the recording media housed within the housing unit and the air information recorded on such desired disc-shaped recording medium and grouping the designated information for classing the large number of the recording media into several groups.

摘要： A recording and/or reproducing apparatus has a rotatable housing unit containing a large number of discs arranged in the erect or upright position. The housing unit is arranged on a pivot and the discs are held in the upright or erected positions in the housing unit radially around the pivot. A rotational drive unit rotates the housing unit in response to a signal from an input unit and a detector detects the amount of housing unit rotation. A disc reproducing and/or recording unit is arranged in the plane perpendicular to a plane formed by connecting apices of the number of discs in the housing unit, so that a desired one of the discs arranged as a horizontal toroid can be taken out in a direction perpendicular to the flat surfaces of the disc, that is, perpendicular to the disc in-plane direction.

摘要： When input equipment is instructed by a remote control unit on the basis of a display of a monitor, a data signal is transmitted from a microcomputer of an AV amplifier to a microcomputer of a CD changer. When the signal is received by a microcomputer of the CD changer, display data is formed in the microcomputer of the CD changer on the basis of data in a memory and is outputted. In the AV amplifier, a switch is switched to the CD changer side. A cursor is formed by the microcomputer of the AV amplifer, the cursor and display data from the CD changer are synthesized by an image synthesizing circuit and displayed on the monitor. When an instruction is generated by the remote control unit on the basis of the display on the monitor, position coordinates of the cursor on the picture plane are generated from the microcomputer of the A/V amplifier to the microcomputer of the CD changer. On the basis of the display data and the position coordinates, the CD changer is controlled by its microcomputer. When a predetermined position on the picture plane is instructed by the remote control unit, the control is returned to the AV amplifier.

摘要： An apparatus for replaying a disc-shaped recording medium on which first video data where audio data or all of video information for one frame through MPEG has been compressed, and second video data where video information before and after the frame in question has been compressed have been recorded together with discrimination data indicating the kind of the recording medium, includes a receiver, a replay unit and a display data producing unit. The receiver receives a plurality of disc-shaped recording media. The replay unit is selectively equipped with the disc-shaped recording media which have been received in the receiver, with the relative movement with respect to the receiver. The replay unit includes a head for reading data recorded on the loaded disc-shaped recording medium. The replay unit conducts the replay processing of the data read out from the head. The display data producing unit produces a plurality of display data for conducting a plurality of display indicating the contents recorded on the respective disc-shaped recording media which have been received in the receiver within one screen, on the basis of data or discrimination data recorded on the recording medium such as the first video data or menu data sequentially read out by the reading unit from the disc-shaped recording media which have been loaded into the replay unit.

The replay apparatus includes a replay section, an input section, a memory and a controller. The replay section loads the disc-shaped recording medium therein and replays the loaded disc-shaped recording medium. The controller, when the input section is operated while the replay section is executing the operation of replaying the disc-shaped recording medium, allows replay start position data to be produced on the basis of at least address data of the recording medium at the time of operating the input section and also allows the produced replay start position data to be stored in the memory together with the discrimination data of the recording medium.

In a still picture data reproducing apparatus for reproducing a recording medium on which both of still picture data having at least variable data length, and data length information corresponding to the still picture data have been recorded, this reproducing apparatus is characterized by including: a reader for reading out both of the still picture data and the data length information corresponding to the still picture data from the recording medium; a decoder for decoding the still picture data and also the data length information corresponding to the still picture data, which are read out by the reader; a counter for counting a data length of the still picture data decoded by the decoder; a comparator for comparing the data length information decoded by the decoder with the data length counted by the counter; and a controller for making such a judgement that the data is dropped out by way of the comparator when the data length information decoded by the decoder is not coincident with the data length of the still picture data counted by the counter, and for controlling the reader to again read out the same still image data.
