    摘要: Image data photographed by a video camera 20 are compressed by a compression and decompression circuit 5, the compressed image data are recorded in an incorporated type semiconductor memory 6 or disk-type memory 13 fixed in the video camera 20 and the recorded image data are transferred to an external recording device 23. Further, the external recording device 23 records the transferred image data in a data storage while they are being compressed. The video camera 20 receives, decompresses and converts into a television signal the compressed image data read by the external recording device 23 in reproducing them. A video camera system capable of recording and reproducing long hours of image data by using a video camera having an ultra small size comparable to that of an 8 mm video cassette can be realized by using such a construction.

The mode switching circuit switches the output portion between a first mode in which it can output multiplexed data and a second mode in which it cannot output the multiplexed data, in synchronism with a sync signal for driving the imager, and switches the input portion between a third mode in which it can input the control data when the output portion is in the second mode, and a fourth mode in which it cannot input the control data when the output portion is in the first mode.

    摘要: In a method of driving a solid-state image sensor having an effective pixel area formed of a plurality of pixels in an array having M pixels in the vertical direction and N pixels in the horizontal direction, a scanning pixel area formed of m pixels in the vertical direction and n pixels in the horizontal direction (where M>m, N.gtoreq.n) is established within the effective pixel area, and charges stored in the pixels in the scanning pixel area are transferred by vertical CCDs driven by a first scanning pulse to a horizontal CCD and the charges transferred to the horizontal CCD are transferred by the horizontal CCD driven by a second scanning pulse to an output portion of the horizontal CCD. Further, while the driving of the horizontal CCD is stopped, the vertical CCDs are driven by a third scanning pulse having a higher frequency than the frequency of the first scanning pulse so that charges stored in the pixels in the effective pixel area outside the scanning pixel area are transferred at high speed to the horizontal CCD of which driving is stopped. The charges transferred from the vertical CCDs to the horizontal CCD at high speed are swept out of the horizontal CCD.

    摘要: A solid-state image pick-up device is provided which will not have a waveform of the picture element signals adversely influenced by a start pulse of the read out. The device includes photoelectric converting elements arranged in a two dimensional array and a shift register for generating horizontal scan pulses in response to a start pulse and clock pulses. The scan pulses are provided to means for sequentially reading out picture element signals from the photoelectric converting elements. A clock pulse generator responsive to the start pulse is also provided which generates clock pulses to the shift register after a lapse of a predetermined period following the start pulse. The period is selected to avoid an adverse influence on the waveform of the picture element signals by the start pulse.
