摘要: A slider for an optical head for signal recording and/or reproduction on or from a recording medium which, even if reduced in size, assures optimum signal recording and/or reproduction on or from a recording medium, and which may be produced readily. The slider for the optical head includes a slider member for floating and running over a recording medium during recording and/or reproduction of information signals for the recording medium, an optical lens bonded to the slider member and a magnetic field generating unit provided on a surface of the slider member carrying the optical lens facing the recording medium. The slider member is formed with a terminal groove opened in a its surface facing the recording medium and in its lateral surface, with an electrically conductive material being charged in the terminal groove. The electrically conductive material charged forms a terminal electrically connected to the magnetic field generating unit. One end of the terminal faces to outside of the slider member from a lateral surface of the slider member.

摘要: A method for producing a slider for an optical head includes a slider member adapted for floating and running over a recording medium during recording and/or reproduction of information signals for the recording medium. An optical lens is bonded to the slider member and a magnetic field generator provided on a surface of the slider member carrying the optical lens facing the recording medium. A first step is forming a groove presenting a bottom surface inclined in the depth-wise direction by ejecting a polishing agent dispersed in a compressed gas on a substrate. A second step is charging an electrically conductive material, which proves a terminal electrically connected to the magnetic field generator in the inside of the groove formed in the substrate. A third step is cutting the substrate in the vicinity of an end of the groove to form a plurality of individual slider members.

摘要: A process for producing an acicular ferromagnetic alloy particles mainly containing iron and magnesium, which comprises preparing a suspension of iron(II) hydroxide and water-soluble magnesium salt, the suspension having a pH value of at least 11 and containing the magnesium salt in an amount of 0.5 to 20.0 atomic % based on the amount of the iron(II) hydroxide in the suspension and calculated as the ratio of Mg to Fe(II), oxidizing the suspension with an oxygen-containing gas to form an acicular particles of iron(III) oxide hydroxide substituted with magnesium, forming coats of phosphorus compound and subsequent silicon compound on the acicular particles, heating the resultant particle at 500.degree. to 900.degree. C. under a non-reducing atmosphere and then reheating the particle thus treated at 350.degree. to 600.degree. C. under reducing atmosphere.

摘要: Methods of manufacturing a gas barrier plastic container include a method in which the inside of a vacuum chamber which houses a plastic container is exhausted to form a pre-set pressure, and while maintaining a state where electricity is supplied to a thermal catalyst arranged inside the vacuum chamber to generate heat above a pre-set temperature, a source gas is blown on the thermal catalyst to decompose the source gas and create chemical species, whereby a gas barrier thin film is formed by the chemical species reaching at least one of either the inner surface or the outer surface of the plastic container.

摘要: The object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for manufacturing a gas barrier plastic container which simultaneously satisfies the condition that the same vacuum chamber can be used even when the container shapes are different, the condition that a high-frequency power source is unnecessary, and the condition that film formation can be carried out for a plurality of containers inside one vacuum chamber in order to make the apparatus low cost. In an apparatus for forming a film on the inner surface of a container, a thermal catalyst is supported on a source gas supply pipe, and the source gas supply pipe is inserted into the port of the container, followed by film formation. In an apparatus for forming a film on the outer surface of a container, a thermal catalyst is arranged on the periphery of the plastic, and a source gas is blown out through the source gas supply pipe while bringing the source gas into contact with the thermal catalyst for film formation. Cooling is carried out to avoid the thermal deformation of the container by heat radiated from the thermal catalyst. For example, a container on which a hydrogen-containing SiNx thin film having a film thickness of 5 to 100 nm and a hydrogen content ratio of 1 to 10 atomic % has been obtained.

摘要: Recording/reproducing information signals to/from a recording medium appropriately even though the clearance from the signal recording surface of the recording medium to an optical head slider becomes significantly small. An optical head slider 10 includes a sliding member 11 which is floated and slides on a recording medium 4 at the time of recording/reproducing signals to/from the recording medium 4, a hemispheric objective lens 12 which is bonded to the sliding member 11, and a magnetic field generating means 16, which is mounted to the bottom of the sliding member 11 which faces the recording medium 4. The sliding member 11 is made of the same material as that of the optical lens 12, and a flat surface of the optical lens 12 is bonded to the top surface of the sliding member 11.
