    摘要: A light-beam scanning apparatus is disclosed in which a mirror surface of a metal having a characteristic that the reflectance of the mirror surface increases as the incident angle of light incident on the mirror surface is larger, is used as a reflecting surface, the optical thickness nd of a transparent protective film formed on the reflecting surface is made substantially equal to m.lambda./2 (where n, d, m and .lambda. indicate the refractive index of the protective film, the thickness of the protective film, an integer, and the wavelength of the incident light, respectively), the incident light is linearly-polarized light, and the direction of vibration of the linearly-polarized light is inclined at an angle of about +40.degree. to -40.degree. to a direction perpendicular to the plane of incidence of the linearly-polarized light.

    摘要: In a variable density scanning apparatus, a variable focal distance device is provided in a scanning optical system. This variable focal distance device is formed of a light waveguide having a plurality of electrodes provided of which the lengths along the direction of incident laser beam are decreased or increased with the increase of the distance from the central electrode. The voltage to be applied between the electrodes is controlled in accordance with a desired dot pattern so as to change the refractive index of the light waveguide through which the laser beam is passed, thereby effectively changing the focal distance so that the diameter of the scanning laser beam spot can be changed in one dimension.

    摘要: An optical printer using laser beams, wherein, when a plurality (n) of laser beams are used at once to carry out a scanning operation, the positions of spots of said laser beams in both the primary scanning direction and sub-scanning direction are set so as to have the relation l=(n-1)a+m.multidot.n.multidot.a, wherein m is a positive integer (m.gtoreq.1); a the distance between the adjacent scanning lines in the sub-scanning direction on the printing surface of the optical printer after a printing operation; and l the distance between the adjacent laser beams in the sub-scanning direction on the surface of a photosensitive drum, whereby a high-quality printing effecting no overlapping and omission of images can be obtained even if the distance between the adjacent laser beams is increased during a scanning operation using a plurality of laser beams at once.

    摘要: An improved laser scanner has a scanning lens composed of a single lens element and at least one surface of that lens element is of such a geometry that the curvature in a direction normal to the scanning direction varies gradually in the scanning direction in accordance with the specific deflecting face of an optical deflector.     摘要: A laser printer can record high definition and high quality images without requiring any increase of electrical and mechanical design precision for increasing a scanning line density thereof. The laser beam is deflected in a primary scanning direction and a subsidiary scanning direction. With such scanning, an artificial scanning line along an edge of a recording image can be established for accurately recording an oblique line, a curved line, a barbel portion of a character, a half-tone image or so forth.
