    摘要: Provided is a computer system, in which a storage system includes a first control module for logically dividing first resources of the storage system and operating them as independent virtual storage systems. A computer includes a second control module for logically dividing second resources of the computer and operating them as independent virtual machines. The computer system holds first information indicating a correlation among the virtual machine, the virtual storage system, and the first resources. The first control module specifies the first resource allocated to the virtual storage system whose power is cut based on the first information, and powers off the specified first resource. Thus, system power consumption can be reduced by managing power of the storage system shared by a plurality of virtual machines in a virtualization environment.

    摘要: A computer system which enables more efficient use of a storage system shared by plural host computers and optimizes the performance of the whole system including the host computers and storages. A computer device has a first control block which logically partitions computing resources of the computer device and makes resulting partitions run as independent virtual computers. The storage system has a second control block which logically partitions storage resources of the storage system and makes resulting partitions run as independent virtual storage systems. The system also has a management unit incorporating: a first control table which controls computing resources of the computer device; a second control table which controls storage resources of the storage system; and a third control table which controls the relations between the virtual computers and the virtual storage systems. The first control block logically partitions the computing resources according to the first control table; and the second control block logically partitions the storage resources according to the second control table.

    摘要: In a storage system directly connected to a network, if conventional interfaces and protocols are used when an I/O command issued from a file server is transmitted to the storage system, the command/data is serially transferred via a single transfer path so that the performance is lowered. Conventional interfaces do not provide the means to notify the storage system of the failure at the file server. The file server and a channel adapter of the storage system are mounted on the same board and connection paths therebetween are controlled so that a plurality of protocols can be operated independently. A path independent from a command/data path is provided between the file server and channel adapter, and the received failure information is stored in a shared memory of the storage system and used for the fail-over.
