摘要: A convertible mortise/rim cylinder lock assembly having a removable core is disclosed. The lock assembly includes a housing having a longitudinal bore, a removable core dimensioned to be received within the longitudinal bore, a drive member and an actuator. The lock assembly includes a drive member retainer assembly which rotatably secures the drive member within the longitudinal bore of the lock assembly housing. The removable core is removable from the housing independently of the drive member. A core retainer member is provided on the removable core to prevent removal of the core from the lock housing when the removable core is in a locked position. The lock assembly may include a kit having mortise and rim cylinder actuator configurations. The selected actuator may be secured to the drive member to selectively adapt the lock assembly for use as a mortise or a rim cylinder lock assembly.

摘要: A plunger lock assembly having a removable core is provided. The lock assembly includes a housing defining a first longitudinal bore and a barrel reciprocably mounted within the first longitudinal bore between an advanced position and a retracted position. The barrel defines a second longitudinal bore and is operably associated with a plunger. A core is removable mounted within the second longitudinal bore of the barrel and includes a key slot for receiving an operating key. A drive member is positioned within the second longitudinal bore and is movable from an unlocked position to a locked position by operation of the operating key. A retainer assembly is operably associated with the drive member to axially retain the drive member within the second longitudinal bore such that the core is removable from the second longitudinal bore independently of the drive member. A biasing member is provided for urging the barrel towards the retracted position.

The presently disclosed biosensors can be used to detect the presence of or amount of physiologically-important metabolites, such as glucose, fatty acids, and lactate, in biological samples.

摘要: The invention is directed to a suppository based vaccine delivery system for immunizing against urogenital and anorectally transmitted infectious disease in humans and animals and a method for treating the same. More particularly, this invention is directed to a suppository based vaccine delivery system for the prophylaxis against or treatment of urogenital or anorectal transmitted infectious diseases, such as from viral or microbial pathogens. The suppository based delivery system comprises vaccine and/or vaccine adjuvant(s) comprised of whole or fractionated viral or other microbial pathogens, or their purified cellular constituents, whether native, mutated, synthetic, cloned or recombinantly expressed, that consists of nucleic acids, proteins, lipids or other antigenic determinants capable of producing humoral or cellular-mediated immunity in humans or animals; and a polyethylene glycol base; wherein the suppository is adapted to be inserted into a bodily orifice of a human or animal so as to allow the suppository to be in contact with tissue of the bodily orifice to facilitate transfer of vaccine or vaccine adjuvant(s) material therethrough.

摘要: A tamper resistant lock assembly is disclosed which is configured to prevent keyless operation of the lock assembly. The tamper resistant lock assembly includes a lock housing having a bolt slidably supported therein and a strike. The lock housing is secured to a mounting plate which is adapted to be fastened to a movable member such as a door. The strike is adapted to be fastened to a support member such as a door jam at a position to facilitate engagement between the bolt and the strike when the movable member is in a closed position. The strike includes a C-shaped catch member defining a recess having an opening which is configured to receive an engagement portion of the strike when the movable member is in the closed position. The engagement portion of the strike is also C-shaped and defines a recess. When the engagement portion of the presently disclosed strike is engaged by the catch member of the presently disclosed bolt, a lip portion of the bolt is positioned within the recess of the engagement portion of the strike and a lip portion of the strike is positioned within the recess of the catch member of the strike to provide an interlocking engagement which resists tampering.

摘要: A method of controlling an internal combustion engine having a fuel vapor purging system and a fuel delivery system including a fuel pump and a fuel pressure sensor for detecting the fuel pressure provided by the fuel pump is disclosed. In one example, the method includes, during a degraded condition of the fuel pressure sensor, adjusting the fuel pump output in response to an operating condition, adjusting at least one of a condition of the fuel vapor purging system and adaptive learning of a characteristic of the fuel delivery system; and further adjusting the fuel pump output in response to an output of an exhaust gas sensor while also adjusting an amount of fuel injected into a cylinder of the engine in response to said output of the exhaust gas sensor.

摘要: The presently disclosed subject matter provides thiol-reactive, environmentally sensitive fluorescent dyes, or fluorophores, which have an emission wavelength in the visible spectral region. When conjugated with a binding protein, the fluorophores exhibit a ratiometric response to one or more ligands or target analytes. The presently disclosed fluorophore-binding protein conjugates can be used to detect the presence of or amount of physiologically-important metabolites, such as glucose, fatty acids, and lactate, in biological samples.
