    摘要: Aqueous carbonaceous slurries having reduced viscosity, a stabilized network of carbonaceous material in water and improved pumpability are obtained by having present as a dispersant one or more particular water soluble sulfomethylated hydroxy aromatic products. Examples of dispersants are the water soluble sulfomethylation product of the water soluble residue obtained from resorcinol production by the alkaline fusion method, sulfomethylated phenol and sulfomethylated bisphenol A.

    摘要: Polythiols prepared by the reaction of hydrogen sulfide or organic dithiols with polyglycidyl substituted amines have been found to be outstanding curing agents for epoxy resins. Epoxy resins cured with these polythiols are characterized by not only improved gel times, but also improved cure rates, better heat resistance and greater resistance to absorption of water.A useful polythiol is the reaction product of N,N,N',N'-tetraglycidyl-m-xylylenediamine with hydrogen sulfide.

    摘要: A process of preparing a concentrate which is useful as a thickener for aqueous compositions is provided. The process comprises obtaining a solution of an associative thickener compound in an organic solvent capable of forming a low boiling azeotrope with water. The solution is essentially free of water at this point and is at a temperature above the boiling point of said low boiling azeotrope. Water is added to said solution and an azeotrope of water and said organic solvent is distilled. The rate of addition of water is sufficient to replace said azeotrope with water, but is insufficient to cause a second phase to form in the resulting mixture of said solution and said water. The process yields a concentrate of an associative thickener in water, which concentrate is essentially free of volatile organic solvents.
