    摘要: An encapsulated OLED device includes a substrate having a predetermined glass seal area and defining a sealed region and one or more OLED unit(s) provided over the substrate, each OLED unit having a light-emitting portion including at least one first electrode, at least one second electrode spaced from the first electrode, and an organic EL media layer provided between the first and second electrodes, wherein the light-emitting portion is provided within the sealed region. The device also includes an inorganic protection layer provided over the glass seal area and over at least a portion of the sealed region, a cover provided over the substrate and OLED unit(s), and sintered glass frit seal material provided in the glass seal area and in contact with both the cover and the inorganic protection layer to bond the cover to the inorganic protection layer and provide sealing against moisture penetration into the sealed region.

    摘要: An actuating device is taught for use with a robotic arm having a linear actuator which includes an actuated portion and a stationary portion with a tool device supported by the actuated portion. The actuating device includes a bracket attached to the stationary potion of the linear actuator with bracket presenting an engaging surface. There is a mechanical assembly for controlling rotation of parts acquired by the tool device which is attached to the actuated member of the linear actuator of the robotic arm. The mechanical assembly includes a displacement linkage member and a rotatable subassembly. The displacement linkage member contacts the engaging surface when the mechanical assembly is raised to a predetermined height through operation of the linear actuator portion. By raising the mechanical assembly above the predetermined height, the displacement linkage member is caused to drive rotation of the rotatable subassembly. A spring is provided to normally bias the displacement linkage member to a home position.

    摘要: A method for making a shadow mask array is taught. Producing a plurality of shadow mask sections; inspecting the plurality of shadow mask sections to determine which shadow mask sections are acceptable as meeting predetermined criteria; positioning a predetermined number of the acceptable mask sections into predetermined locations relative to one another to form a mask section array thereby distributing any error in individual mask sections across the mask section array; and attaching the individual mask sections of the mask section array to a support structure. The support structure allows for expansion and/or contraction of the individual mask sections of the mask section array while maintaining relative positioning of the individual shadow mask section in the shadow mask array. The support structure further allows for compliance of the shadow mask array in a direction normal to the plane of the shadow mask array thereby allowing for a substantially planar interface between the shadow mask array and a substrate to be coated.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for loading photographic film. In the method, a curling guide is introduced into a supply chamber of a film holder. An inner roller is introduced into the supply chamber. The inner roller defines an inner roller axis and a film gap overlying the inner roller. An outer roller is disposed over the inner roller adjoining the film gap. A leading portion of a filmstrip is advanced through the film gap. The leading portion is curled around the inner roller and back to the film gap to define an initial filmstrip scroll. The initial scroll has an axis offset from the inner roller axis. The curling guide is retracted after the curling step. The main portion of said filmstrip is propelled through the film gap to wind the main portion of the filmstrip over the initial scroll. The rollers are removed. The film holder is light-tightly closed.

    摘要: A winding apparatus for a web, such as photographic film, advances the web through a cutting mechanism and along a fixed guide to a spool. After the end of the web is attached to the spool, the spool is rotated to wind convolutions of the web onto the spool. The spool is rotated in a direction which causes the web to move away from fixed guide due to the increase in the diameter of the web on the spool as each convolution of the web is wound onto the spool. Air under pressure is directed from an air bar against the web to locate the portion of the web adjacent the cutting mechanism in a position where it is not scratched by the cutting mechanism as it is wound onto the spool. The air bar also urges the web toward the fixed guide when the leading end of the web is advanced from the cutting mechanism into the space between the air bar and the fixed guide as it is driven to the spool for initial attachment to the spool.
