Abstract: Techniques are provided for selectively and dynamically determining one or more words of an electronic book to present with comprehension guides. For instance, an electronic device rendering an electronic book may determine whether to display some, all, or no words of the book with comprehension guides for words within the electronic book based on word difficulty, contextual importance or aspects of the user. Techniques are also provided for determining the content of comprehension guides to be presented with the words.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring memory consumption in computing devices. Memory monitoring can be performed by tracking multiple parameters on both a regular schedule and in response to the detection of certain events. These memory parameters can include the total amount of free memory in the system, the memory usage associated with certain processes, and stack traces of current threads. These memory parameters can be stored locally in a memory log on the device's secondary storage and then transmitted to a remote test system for detailed analysis along with the memory logs from other devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods for digital content editing and assessment are described. Software tools may perform heuristic processing of the digital content, producing computer-generated edits to the digital content. In addition, a user may accept, reject, or modify these computer-generated edits, and/or make additional edits to other portions of the digital content. The digital content may be subjected to additional processing steps prior to completion or publication. Various metrics associated with the editing of the digital content may be stored and analyzed to evaluate the performance of the digital content editing. This evaluation may be used to make changes to the editing process, such as to refine the detection heuristics for automated editing or modify other processes of the editing workflow.

Abstract: Described herein are systems for monitoring memory allocation and deallocation associated with compact virtual machine (CVM) instances operating on a host environment. In some cases, the systems output a tree structure that is viewable by a user to understand the native memory usage of the CVM instance stemming from java frames execution. In some particular instances, the tree structure may present to the user a code line by code line analysis of the memory allocation and deallocation.
