Abstract: Technologies directed to providing a wireless chipset with integrated radar for presence detection and localization for natural and ambient interactions with a device are described. A wireless device can send via a first antenna, a set of chirps in a first portion of a frame. The wireless device can receive, via a second antenna, reflected signals corresponding to the set of chirps, and generate in-phase and quadrature (IQ) samples. The wireless device sends (or receives), data in a second portion of the frame to (or from) a second device. The wireless device generates, using RF signals sent or received by the wireless device, channel state information (CSI) data representing channel properties of a channel. The wireless device can determine, using the IQ samples and the CSI data, that an environment in which the wireless device is located has been disrupted by a presence or motion of a person.

Abstract: A group of devices connected on a wireless local area network (WLAN) operate in conjunction with one another to present content. Devices in the group may be wirelessly connected via personal area network (PAN) to other devices, such as speakers. An election process is used to select a primary device. The primary device may receive content from an external source, such as a server, and distribute that content to other devices within the group via the WLAN. The parameters of that distribution, such as a content rate indicative of a bitrate of the content, transfer limit rate, and so forth are configured to preserve fidelity of the presentation while minimizing interruptions to presentation that may result due to frequency contention between the WLAN and the PAN, traffic on the WLAN, and so forth.

Abstract: A device includes a first radio controller, a second radio controller, and a processor. The processor is configured to execute instructions for determining that a first signal strength of a signal received from a remote device by a first antenna electrically connected to the first radio controller is less than a minimum signal strength threshold for communications using the first antenna, identifying a network process configured to communicate with a remote device using the first radio controller or the second radio controller, and determining that the processor is not executing the network process. The processor is further configured to execute instructions for, determining a second signal strength of a second signal received from the remote device by a second antenna, determining the second signal strength is greater than the first signal strength, and causing the first radio controller to communicate using the second antenna.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for implementing and utilizing a transceiver in a communication device that has two separate radio-frequency (RF) power amplifiers that are optimized to transmit signals using separate communication standards. The power amplifiers may be designed to convert a lower-power RF signal into different higher-power signals according to different standard-mandated, output-power limits. In this way, a communication device may arbitrate between two transceiver chains that include respective power adapters in order to convert lower-power RF signals into different higher-power RF signals. The higher-power RF signals may have different output-power levels that are appropriate for the respective communication standards of the separate transceiver chains.

Abstract: In various examples, systems and methods of wireless communication link adaptation are described. In some examples, first data may be determined for a first gateway device, the first data representing a plurality of received signal strength (RSS) values of a first signal received from a first end node device. Second data representing an interference associated with the first signal may be determined. At least one of a first packet error rate or a first packet success rate may be determined based at least in part on the first data and the second data. A first modulation coding scheme (MCS) associated with at least one of the first packet error rate or the first packet success rate may be determined. Third data may be sent to the first end node, the third data instructing the first end node device to use the first MCS for communication with the first gateway device.

Abstract: Technologies directed to dynamic memory reallocation and offload channel state information (CSI) processing for device power savings are described. A method includes receiving, by a radio, first data from a processing device. The first data is sent to a second wireless device over a wireless channel. The method measures, by the radio, first CSI values that represent channel properties of the wireless channel. The method sends, by the radio, the first CSI values to the processing device with a first periodicity. The method receives, by the radio from the processing device, second data that specifies a transfer interval and an amount of memory to reserve in a memory buffer for second CSI values measured during the transfer interval. The method measures, by the radio, the second CSI values and sends the second CSI values to the processing device at the end of the transfer interval.

Abstract: A system includes a media distribution device including a first network interface, a second network interface, and a first processor. The first processor configures the first network interface to use a first communication network, and broadcasts, using the first communication network, audio data. The system includes a media device including a third network interface, a fourth network interface, and a second processor. Abstract: Technologies directed to reducing switching latency between different modulation schemes are described. One sub-gigahertz (sub-GHz) receiver includes radio frequency (RF) circuitry, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a first module, and a second module. The ADC can generate in-phase and quadrature samples (IQ samples) representing an RF signal received by the sub-GHz receiver. The first module can demodulate the IQ samples according to a first modulation scheme, and the second module can demodulate the IQ samples according to a second modulation scheme different from the first modulation scheme. The first module and the second module can concurrently demodulate the IQ samples.

Abstract: A system and method for network channel selection is provided. A device includes WIFI, ZIGBEE, and BLUETOOTH communication controllers. The device's processor is configured to determine, using the communication controllers, a WIFI channel designated for communications and a first set of ZIGBEE channels designated for communications. The processor is configured to determine that a number of available BLUETOOTH channels that do not overlap the WIFI channel or any in-use ZIGBEE channels is less than a threshold number of BLUETOOTH channels required for communication using a BLUETOOTH protocol. The processor then determines the WIFI channel has a minimum duty cycle from among duty cycles of the WIFI channel and each ZIGBEE channel, determines a first BLUETOOTH channel that at least partially overlaps the WIFI channel, and causes the BLUETOOTH communication controller to transmit data using the first BLUETOOTH channel.
