Abstract: An electronic stylus device includes one or more mechanisms that deform to protected an electronic force sensor. After the mechanism deforms to relieve force applied to a tip of the stylus, a hard stop may engage to arrest further movement of a shaft transferring force from the tip to the force sensor. The intermediate range of forces that may be relieved by the mechanism, in addition to providing the electronic force sensor, enables less stringent manufacturing tolerances to be used with the hard stop.

Abstract: A housing for an electronic device includes a single rear housing assembly coupled to the cover glass of a display assembly. The rear housing assembly includes a metal rear chassis with two layers of injection molded material formed on at least the chassis side regions. The first injection molded layer includes a high reinforcing agent content percentage to provide increased stiffness, and the second injection molded layer includes a low reinforcing agent content percentage, which provides less structural support than the first injection molded layer, but an improved aesthetic appearance.

Abstract: An example enclosure includes a base, a plurality of walls extending from the base, and a top disposed opposite the base and connected to at least one of the plurality of walls. The enclosure also includes a light assembly configured to illuminate an interior space of the enclosure. The light assembly includes a diffuser, a heat sink connected to the diffuser, a substrate connected to the heat sink, and a light source connected to the substrate. The diffuser may be connected to one of the top or the base such that the heat sink is spaced from the one of the top or the base. Additionally, the top is moveable toward the base to transition the enclosure from an expanded state to a collapsed state.

Abstract: Described herein are electronic devices that includes a display stack having a cover component atop a lightguide component and a display component below the lightguide component. In some instances, the cover component including an antiglare etching applied to a top surface of a coverglass and a touch pattern applied to a bottom surface of the coverglass. In some cases, an optically clear adhesive layer formed from two types of optically clear adhesive may be located between the cover component and the lightguide component and a ring adhesive may be applied to around an outer edge of the cover component, the optically clear adhesive and the lightguide component.
