Abstract: One or more processors are configured to execute instructions that cause a UE to perform operations. The operations include offloading a task to a first network node. The operations include determining a computation requirement forecast, wherein the computation requirement forecast indicates a computation requirement of the task at an upcoming time. The operations include transmitting the computation requirement forecast to the first network node. The operations include performing a handover procedure from the first network node to a second network node.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and circuitries are provided for coordinated measurement scheme for wireless communication devices in a subnetwork. In one aspect, a management node collects cell strength measurement data from reference devices in the subnetwork and broadcasts the cell strength measurement data to the subnetwork for use by the wireless communication devices within the subnetwork in generating cell strength measurement results. In another aspect, wireless network devices in the subnetwork receive cell strength measurement data generated by reference devices in the subnetwork and use a the received cell strength measurement data to generate a cells strength measurement result.

Abstract: A communication system may include a base station (BS), a user equipment (UE) device, a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) having a local controller, and a remote controller. Antenna elements on the RIS may reflect signals between the BS and UE while exhibiting reflection coefficients. The remote controller may transmit a control model and the UE may transmit local information to the local controller, which generates the reflection coefficients based on the local information and control model. Alternatively, the remote controller may transmit the control model to the UE and a codebook to the RIS. The UE may transmit an identifier to the RIS based on local information and the control model. The local controller may implement reflection coefficients of a codebook entry identified by the identifier. Splitting control of the RIS in these ways may minimize communication overhead, provide coverage extension for the UE, and optimize privacy.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and processors are provided for supporting a distributed computing framework. In one example, a wireless communication device is configured to act as a distributed computing control node (ContN), the wireless communication device including a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to, when executing instructions stored in the memory, cause the device to receive respective registration messages from respective wireless communication devices. The registration messages include registration information indicating whether a respective wireless communication device acts as an offload node (OffN) for distributed computing or a compute node (CompN) for distributed computing. The processor is configured to store the registration information in a resource repository and, based on the registration information of the respective wireless communication devices, transmit a resource availability message indicating available distributed computing resources to wireless communication devices acting as OffNs.

Abstract: A communications system may include a user equipment (UE) device that communicates with a network. The UE may gather first contextual information about usage of the UE device, may receive second contextual information about usage of the network, and may receive third contextual information about usage of additional UE devices. The UE may run an application that requests wireless data transfer. The UE may train a learning model based on the contextual information. The UE may make a network connectivity decision based on the contextual information, the learning model, and a data sensitivity of the application. Once the connectivity decision is made, signals may be conveyed to implement the decision. Performing the connectivity decision on the UE instead of the network may allow the UE and the network to take full advantage of contextual learning in different use cases to optimize performance of both the UE and the network.

Abstract: A network may include user equipment (UE) devices and a base station that communicates using a control unit (CU) and a data unit (DU). A primary UE may duplicate the DU and a subset of control functions of the CU. When the DU on the primary UE is active, the base station and primary UE may effectuate a split or bearer duplication of the DU at the RLC/PDCP/MAC layer between the primary UE and the base station. Data may be concurrently routed data through the primary UE using inter-UE links and direct cellular telephone links to the base station. When the subset of the control functions of the CU are active on the primary UE, the device may perform RRC functions, MAC control functions, RLC control functions, or other control functions to generate information for use by the base station in updating communications.
