    摘要: An electrical connector assembly (20) includes a male connector (30) and a female connector (40). The male connector includes a dielectric housing (50) with first latches (54), a plurality of contacts (60), a pair of levers (90) and a pair of springs (98). The levers are rotatably mounted in the housing, biased outwards by the springs. The female connector includes a female housing (70) having second latches (76) and a plurality of terminals (80). Each terminal has a mating portion in the shape of a tuning fork, with locking bosses (84) formed on ends of the tines (85). The male contacts each have dimples (64) defined in their mating portions. When the connectors are mated, the locking bosses of the terminals lock with the dimples of the contacts, forward walls of the female housing push against the levers, compressing the springs, storing a force to unmate the connectors, and the first and second latches lock together.

    摘要: A giga-bit interface converter (GBIC) includes a base (1) and a revertible shielding door (2) pivotably positioned in a front of the base. A post (24) is formed on a rear of the shielding door, and a block (14) is formed on the base. A spring beam (23) has an arcuate front end (232) and a rear end (231). The rear end is fixed on the block, and the front end sits on the post. When a complementary plug connector (27) is inserted into the GBIC, the front end of the spring beam is deformably pushed upwardly by the post. A spring force is thereby generated in the spring beam, which exerts a downward force on the post. When the plug connector is withdrawn from the GBIC, the spring force of the spring beam pushes the post down. This causes the shielding door to rotatingly return to its original position.

    摘要: A locking device comprises a plug portion and a receptacle portion. The plug portion comprises a cylindrical body defining a central cavity. A plurality of ribs radially project from an outer periphery of the body. Each rib has an interface at a free edge thereof distant from the cavity. The receptacle portion comprises an outer wall defining a circular chamber therein. A protrusion protrudes upwardly from a bottom of the chamber to an opening thereof. A blind hole is defined in the protrusion and does not extend through an upper free end portion of the protrusion. A distance between the interfaces of two opposite ribs is slightly larger than a bore diameter of the chamber. The cavity has a bore diameter equal to an outer diameter of the protrusion. In assembly, the plug portion is inserted into the receptacle portion whereby the protrusion enters into the cavity and the ribs enter into the chamber. A side wall of the protrusion is clamped by the body of the plug portion and compressed toward the blind hole whereby the protrusion is securely retained in the cavity of the plug portion.

    摘要: An IDC connector (10) is used for connecting a flat cable (40) to a header connector (60) mounted on a PCB (70). The IDC connector has a cover (30) forming at each end thereof an outer U-shaped locker (34) and an inner latch (36), and a base (52) receiving a plurality of terminals (550) therein for terminating the cable. The cover is enagagable with the base at an initial position and a final position. At the initial position, the lockers of the cover engage with projections (530) of the base with a space between a scalloped bottom face (32) of the cover and a terminating face (522) of the base so that the flat cable is movable on the terminating face. At the final position, the inner latches engage with steps (534) formed by the base and the scalloped bottom face fittingly depresses the flat cable against the terminating face, in which the terminals electrically engage with conductors (402) in the cable, respectively. The base further has deflectable hooks (540) at lateral side ends thereof. The hooks (540) engage with crossbars (627) of the header connector when the IDC connector mates with the header connector. An excessively inner deflection of the hooks is prevented by an engagement between the hooks and lateral side faces (527) of the base, and an excessively outer deflection of the hooks is prevented by an engagement between the hooks and the inner latches of the cover.

The insulative housing forms a T-shaped securing portion (26) thereon. The actuator includes a base (42), and an inserting beam (44) and a reinforcing beam (46) respectively depending from the base. The inserting beam and the reinforcing beam are parallel to each other. The actuator defines a T-shaped securing channel (46a), for engaging with the T-shaped securing portion of the housing. The actuator further forms two V-shaped ribs (48) between the base and the reinforcing beam, for reinforcing the mechanical strength of the actuator. When the actuator is inserted into the central slot of the housing, the inserting beam firmly pushes the pre-inserted the FPC against the terminals in the central slot of the housing.
