摘要： A noise reduction method for reducing noise in an input video signal to output an output video signal includes the steps of generating a motion-compensated reference video signal from the output video signal; delaying the output video signal to generate a non-motion-compensated reference video signal; mixing the motion-compensated reference video signal with the non-motion-compensated reference video signal to generate a reference video signal; subtracting the generated reference video signal from the input video signal to generate a differential signal; compensating the differential signal to generate a noise reduction signal; and subtracting the noise reduction signal from the input video signal.

摘要： In an image encoder, a first quantization section which is selected when normal image quality is required performs quantization by dividing a wavelet transformation coefficient by a quantization step size and by thereafter rounding down a fraction thereof. On the other side, a second quantization section which is selected when high image quality is required performs quantization by dividing a wavelet transformation coefficient by a quantization step size, by adding 0.5 to the addition result, and by thereafter rounding down a fraction thereof. Therefore, the width of a dead zone where coefficients are quantized to a value of 0 is narrower than that in the first quantization section, and higher image quality is obtained accordingly.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for compressing a picture by wavelet transform and entropy coding, in which the processing load of arithmetic coding may be relieved and rate control may be carried out effectively, while still maintaining the picture quality. An encoding object prediction unit predicts bitplanes to be encoded and extracts only those bitplanes which are to be encoded. An EBCOT unit generates an encoding pass from one bitplane to be encoded to another to execute arithmetic coding. In controlling the code volume to a target code volume, a rate controller sums the arithmetic codes in a sequence from the arithmetic code with the highest bit position in the totality of the code blocks of an input picture to the arithmetic code of the lowermost bit, from one bitplane to another or from one encoding pass to another, and halts the summation when the predetermined target code volume is exceeded.

The male joint is fitted on a clamping plate of an injection molding machine and comprises a second valve casing, a second valve body, and a second open/close valve having a second valve seat and a second valve portion. The coupling device further comprises a valve body drive unit. When, in a condition where the front ends of the first and second valve casings and are in contact with each other, the valve body drive unit drives and advances, in the male joint, only the second valve body relative to the second valve casing, the first and second valve bodies and are driven to the valve opening side.

摘要： According to the present invention, an endoscope system having an insertion member thereof wound about a drum comprises an electronic endoscope, a drum, an angling input unit, a motor-driven angling unit, a camera control unit, a motor-driven angling control circuit unit, and a stowage case. A bending section included in an insertion member of the electronic endoscope is motor-driven to bend, and a solid-state imaging device is incorporated at the tip of the insertion member. The insertion member is wound about the periphery of the drum. The angling input unit is separated from the electronic endoscope, and used to enter a direction of bending in which a user wants to bend the bending section. The motor-driven angling unit is incorporated in the drum, and includes a driving source for driving a driving mechanism that drives the bending section. The camera control unit controls the solid-state imaging device, and includes a signal processor for processing an electric signal sent from the solid-state imaging device to generate a video signal. The motor-driven angling control circuit unit controls the movement of the bending section. The drum is rotatably stowed in the stowage case freely.
