摘要: An optical fluid tester device for testing a fluid sample in an ampoule includes an ampoule cradle, a radiation source, a radiation detector and an analyzer. The ampoule cradle supports the ampoule. The ampoule with the fluid sample serves as a lens whose focal properties are dependent on the index of refraction of the fluid sample. The radiation source irradiates the ampoule. The radiation detector is located opposite the radiation source so that the ampoule, when supported by the ampoule cradle, lies between the radiation source and the radiation detector. The detector serves to detect the intensity of the incident radiation. The analyzer verifies the composition of the fluid sample based on the detected intensity, which is dependent on the focal properties of the ampoule and is, therefore, indicative of the composition of the fluid sample.

摘要: An improved method of tracking a camera in dynamic chroma-keying of the type in which a foreground object is photographed against a multicolored chroma-key screen. The multicolor patterns are created by projection on a monochrome screen, for example by projecting light through a mask on a screen colored with the chroma-key color. The projection of multiple patterns can emulate the use of a single pattern having multiple levels of detail, and can enable lateral tracking of the camera. Sequentially projecting known transformations (for example, rotations) of a pattern adds an extra degree of freedom which further enhances the accuracy of the method.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a shooting range simulator system and method able to monitor the aiming history of a shooter. The method may include determining an aimed-at position of one or more aiming devices on a target screen by selectively illuminating positions on the screen according to a predefined scheme; detecting scattered light from the illuminated position from one or more viewing angles; and deriving coordinates of the aimed-at position based on the timing of the detection relative to the scanning scheme. The system may include a scanner to selectively illuminate screen elements and a processing center to determine an aimed-at position on the screen. Additional features are described and claimed.

摘要: A method and apparatus is described where the coordinates of the main objects of a video studio set are placed in a computer and special markings are projected or screened on the floor or on the studio walls in real time. This enables an actor to easily find his way around the set, and to focus his gaze on the virtual objects appearing in or disappearing from the studio. The present invention gives the actor the timings for various events taking place in the studio. The special markings are completely invisible to the camera and to the home viewers because they are only active during virtual blanks of the camera such as the vertical blanking interval or the horizontal blanking interval in an NTSC, PAL, SECAM or other video signal format.
