    Abstract: The present invention relates to a flame retardant polymer composition comprising (A) 2.0 to 15.0 wt % of a copolymer of ethylene comprising units selected from the group consisting of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate or mixtures thereof; (B) 0 to 4.0 wt % of a polyethylene and/or polypropylene containing units originating from maleic acid anhydride; (C) 0.1 to 3.0 wt % of a silicon fluid and/or silicone gum; (D) 40.0 to 55.0 wt % of a magnesium hydroxide; (E) 2.0 to 15.0 wt % of a copolymer of ethylene and alpha olefin comonomer units having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, which has a density of from 860 to 910 kg/m3, determined according to ISO 1183; (F) 18.0 to 35.0 wt % of a copolymer of ethylene and alpha olefin comonomer units having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, which has a density of from 920 to 960 kg/m3, determined according to ISO 1183, and a melt flow rate MFR5 of from 0.05 to 2.50 g/10 min, determined according to ISO 1133 at a temperature of 190° C. and a load of 5.0 kg; and (G) 0 to 8.0 wt % of carbon black, wherein all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the flame retardant polymer composition; an article, such as a wire or cable, comprising said flame retardant polymer composition; and the use of said flame retardant polymer composition for the production of an article, such as a wire or cable.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a flame retardant polymer composition comprising at least the following components A) 2.0 to 49.8 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a copolymer comprising ethylene units and units selected from the group consisting of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and mixtures thereof; B) 0.1 to 6.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a polyethylene and/or polypropylene containing units originating from maleic acid anhydride; C) 0.1 to 5.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a silicone fluid and/or a silicon gum; D) 50.0 to 70.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a magnesium hydroxide; and E) 0 to 17.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a copolymer of ethylene and a C4 to C10 alpha olefin comonomer having a density in the range of 860 kg/m3 to 950 kg/m3 determined according to ISO 1183; wherein the weight proportions of components A) to E) add up to 100 wt.-%. In addition, the present invention refers to a wire or cable comprising at least one layer comprising the polymer composition according to the present invention and to the use of the polyolefin composition according to the present invention as a flame retardant layer of a wire or cable.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyolefin composition comprising a cross-linkable polyolefin with hydrolysable silane groups, an acidic silanol condensation catalyst, wherein the acidic silanol condensation catalyst is present in an amount of 0.0001 to 3 wt. % of the polyolefin composition, at least one UV stabilizer selected from the group consisting of phenols, benzophenones and/or combinations thereof, wherein component (C) is present in an amount of 0.0001 to 0.35 wt. % of the polyolefin composition, and/or at least one UV stabilizer selected from triazines, wherein component (D) is present in an amount of 0.0001 to 2.0 wt. % of the polyolefin composition.     Abstract: The present invention is directed to a polyolefin composition which has flame retardant and/or fire resistant properties and is suitable as flame retardant and/or fire resistant layer of a wire or cable. The polyolefin composition of the present invention comprises an polyolefin homo- or copolymer, ground magnesium hydroxide having particle size distribution D50 of 1.5 to 5.0 μm in an amount of 30 to 65 wt % based on the weight of the polyolefin composition, and a silicone fluid or gum in an amount of 0.1 to 20 wt % based on the weight of the polyolefin composition. The present invention is further directed to a wire or cable comprising one or more layers, wherein at least one layer thereof is obtained from the polyolefin composition of the present invention. Finally, the present invention is further directed to the use of a polyolefin composition of the present invention as a flame retardant layer of a wire or cable.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a polyolefin composition which has flame retardant and/or fire resistant properties and is suitable as flame retardant and/or fire resistant layer of a wire or cable.
