Abstract:
A portable electronic device connected over a network to a server is used to guide a person using the device to one or more selected items within a facility, with the location of the device being tracked using radio frequency signals generated within the facility or GPS signals from satellites. The process of connecting to the server may be started when a bar code is photographed using a camera within the device, or when an RFID tag is read by a reader within the device. Location processes are provided for finding a vehicle left in a parking area, and for locating items that are additionally described in messages displayed on the electronic device.
Abstract:
A system and method of home automation comprising one or more remote thermostats each having an environmental sensor array configured to sense temperature and humidity and at least one thermostat controller in electrical communication with an HVAC system. Intelligent fans are along-side or integrated with the remote thermostats. The thermostat controller receives, over the local area network, computer-readable environmental data from the remote thermostats corresponding to the temperature and said humidity in the location where the remote thermostat is installed. The thermostat controller conditionally controls the intelligent fans and HVAC system based on the environmental data received from the remote thermostats, allowing for more precise and accurate environmental control of the entire home or building. Operation of the fans permits more precise control of environmental conditions in a particular room or locations and augments the performance of the HVAC system. The system is controllable remotely by mobile device or computer.
Abstract:
A joint of a patient is scanned using MRI apparatus, and images of the joint area are produced as a body part of the patient is moved into a particular position known to cause a problem in the joint. The patient may walk or run on a treadmill during the process, or the body part may be supported on a surface causing or allowing such movement.
Abstract:
An interpersonal communication and an interactive information system, where a user can access a wireless local area network connected to a cloud computing service from any compatible mobile device and obtain information specific to the user's location and communicate with other mobile devices in the user's location through the wireless local area network.
Abstract:
A computer implemented method for communicating with contacts preferably responds to both telephone calls and written text documents, with calls being handled as they are received, and with written documents being temporarily stored before responding. Calls and written documents are monitored to determine the communication styles of the contacts and of the user in dealing with the contacts, with these styles then being applied to the responses, which include answers to questions from the contacts. Connections to other components and systems provide answers regarding the location and scheduling of the user, product inventories, etc.
Abstract:
An applicator, for a cosmetic liquid, such as nail polish, includes a reservoir and a removable cap sealing an opening in the reservoir. The applicator may be quite small, holding nail polish for a single application to a person's nails, having a number of legs that can opened so that the applicator can rest on a table. Alternately, the applicator may be built to be handled like a pen, with a piston that is driven to supply the liquid. Features are provided for the attachment of two or more such applicators to one another.
Abstract:
A vehicle parked within a parking facility is found by first tracing a path from the vehicle to an entrance of the facility, using a portable electronic device that records data describing the path from movements of the device. Then, the path is retraced to return to the vehicle, with the device displaying a map of the path and a symbol indicating the current location of the device. Alternately, a portable radio beacon device is left in the vehicle to be turned on remotely by the portable electronic device, which then displays an indication of a direction from which signal from the beacon device is being received.
