摘要: An electroluminescent device comprises a cathode and an anode; and located therebetween, a fluorescent light-emitting layer (LEL) comprising at least one fluorescent emitter and a host, together with at least one phosphorescent light-emitting layer comprising at least one phosphorescent emitter and a host, and having a spacer layer interposed between the fluorescent and phosphorescent light-emitting layers. The materials within these layers are selected so that the triplet energy levels of certain components satisfy certain interrelationships. The invention provides devices that emit light with high luminous efficiency at low voltage.

摘要: A method for forming a color organic light-emitting device including depositing a first electrode over a substrate; depositing a first emissive layer over the first electrode for producing a first colored light in response to hole-electron recombination; and selectively patternwise depositing a hole-blocking layer over the first emissive layer. The method also includes depositing a second emissive layer over the hole-blocking layer which in response to hole-electron recombination emits colored light different from the colored light emitted from the first emissive layer; depositing a second electrode over the second emissive layer; and whereby the patternwise deposition of the hole-blocking layer has been selected to substantially shift hole-electron recombination from the second to the first emissive layers.

摘要: The invention provides an electronic device including an anode and a cathode, between which there are at least two organic phototransducing units where the units are separated by an intermediate connecting region which comprises in sequence: an organic p-type layer, an intermediate layer in direct contact with the organic p-type layer and including a compound that has a LUMO more negative than −3.0 eV and is different from the organic compound in the organic p-type layer, and an n-type doped organic layer in direct contact with the intermediate layer and including an electron transport material as a host and an organic n-dopant with a HOMO less negative than −4.5 eV. In one embodiment, the electronic device is a tandem OLED.

摘要: A method of making an electroluminescent device having a substrate, and at least one blue light emitting layer and at least one non-emissive layer containing an emissive material that emits light longer in wavelength than blue light, these two layers being directly separated by and in direct contact with a non-emissive buffer layer; and heating the electroluminescent device after fabrication to cause the long wavelength emissive material to diffuse from the non-emissive layer into at least the buffer layer such that the long wavelength emissive material comes into contact with the blue light-emitting layer such that the recombination energy in the emitting layer is preferentially transferred to the diffused emissive material compared to the blue emissive material and the light emitted is longer in wavelength than blue light.
