    摘要： Apparatus and methods are provided for measuring a size of an object in a field of view of a captured image. A distance is measured from a focal point of the image to the object. A cursor is fit to the object and the size of the object is estimated based on processing the measured distance, image parameters and the cursor. Alternatively, a model having dimensions corresponding to the object boundaries is fit to the object boundaries. At least one dimension is estimated from among the dimensions of the fitted model. The size of the object is estimated by determining the dimensions based on the estimated dimension, image parameters and the fitted model.

    摘要： A method of tracking an identification device includes storing data about the identification device in a register, the data to be stored including data relating to a forwarding location to which requests for information about the identification device should be forwarded. The identification device is attached to an item to be monitored. The method includes accessing the register when the identification device has been read and a request for information has been received. Details of the forwarding location are obtained from the register. The request is forwarded to the forwarding location and the requested information about the identification device is sent from the forwarding location to a requester of the information.

    摘要： A radio telecommunications network for providing information services to a mobile subscriber (22) includes a distributed arrangement of Agent Transceiver Systems (13, 14, 15), each associated with a base station (17, 18, 19) serving a respective geographical area, and each acting as a host platform for local information services. This distributed arrangement keeps the transmission loads due to accessed information which is added to the radio communications system to a minimum. A further feature of the invention allows mobility of a subscriber's personalised details to be moved around from platform to platform as he moves from one location to another, without interfering with the usual operation of the telecommunications system. Links (20, 21, 23) to a global services platform also provide access to Internet-type services.

    摘要： A patient centric medication dispensing device is herein disclosed. The dispensing device is configured to close the loop between a patient, a treating physician and a pharmacy by monitoring the medication intake of the patient and reporting information to the physician and/or the pharmacy or pharmaceutical company. The dispensing device is further configured to calculate adverse drug effects that may result if a patient takes a requested medication, based on medication that has already been dispensed and medication that is scheduled to be taken. The dispensing device is also configured to provide the patient with educational information based on the situation the patient has encountered, such as missing a scheduled dosage or suffering from side-effects.
