    摘要: The present invention recites a method comprising reacting in a solvent in the presence of a base a) at least one diacidic monomer comprising about 1 to 100 mole % of at least one light-absorbing monomer having a light absorption maximum between about 300 nm and about 1200 nm and 99-0 mole % of a non-light absorbing monomer which does not absorb significant light at wavelengths above 300 nm or has a light absorption maximum below 300 nm, with b) an organic compound of Formula II X—B—X1  wherein B is a divalent organic radical to form a light absorbing composition comprising a mixture of a polymer having the formula  and a cyclic compound having the general formula  wherein B is as defined above; n is at least 2, m is 1, 2, 3 or 4 and A comprises the residue of a diacidic monomer comprising about 1 to 100 mole % of at least one light-absorbing monomer having a light absorption maximum between about 300 nm and about 1000 nm and wherein the remaining portion of A comprises the residue of a non-light absorbing monomer which does not absorb significant light at wavelengths above 300 nm or has a light absorption maximum below 300 nm.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a polymeric composition suitable for use in films, molded articles and fibers, including microdenier fibers. The polymeric composition comprises a thermoplastic resin in an amount from about 50 weight percent to about 99.9 weight percent of the polymeric composition, and a dye composition in an amount from about 0.1 weight percent to about 50 weight percent of the polymeric composition. The dye composition contains an indanthrone compound as a major component. As used herein, indanthrone compounds are defined as compounds having the general structure represented by Formula I: wherein R is hydrogen or at least one group independently selected from C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C8 alkoxy, halogen, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, aryloxy, arylthio, arylamino, C1-C8 carbalkoxy, —CO2H, C1-C8 alkanoyloxy, arylazo, —CN, —NO2, —SO2-C1-C8 alkyl, —SO2N(R1)R2, and —CON(R1)R2, wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from C1-C8 alkyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, aryl and hydrogen. A process for preparing the polymeric composition, processes for preparing the dye composition and articles formed from the polymeric composition are also disclosed.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a black polymeric composition suitable for use in films, fibers and molded articles, where a soluble, easily dispersed colorant is desirable. The black polymeric composition provides a high black color quality and is small enough to function as a black colorant in microdenier fibers. The black polymeric composition comprises a thermoplastic resin in an amount between about 50 weight percent and about 99.9 weight percent of the black polymeric composition, and a black dye composition in an amount between about 0.1 weight percent and about 50 weight percent of the black polymeric composition. The black dye composition contains a black indanthrone compound as a major component. As used herein, black indanthrone compounds are defined as compounds having the general structure represented by Formula I: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or at least one group independently selected from C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxy, halogen, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, aryloxy, arylthio, arylamino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 carbalkoxy, --CO.sub.2 H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkanoyloxy, arylazo, --CN, --NO.sub.2, --SO.sub.2 --C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, --SO.sub.2 N(R1)R2, and --CON(R1)R2, wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl, aryl and hydrogen. The present invention further relates to a process for preparing the black polymeric composition, processes for preparing the black dye composition and articles formed from the black polymeric composition.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a thermoplastic polymer composition comprising a blend of a thermoplastic polymer admixed with from about 5 to 50 ppm black iron oxide particles, based on the amount of said thermoplastic polymer. The black iron oxide is admixed with the polymer in order to speed up the process of reheating parisons formed from the polymer during bottle manufacturing. The composition has the beneficial combination of a large percent reheat rate improvement (RIV) with only a small decrease in transparency (.DELTA.L*). The ratio of RIV/.DELTA.L* is significantly better than carbon black--polymer blends having similar RIV.
