摘要: Apparatus is provided for treating a flow of hot, pressurized, hydrogen sulfide-containing geothermal steam, particularly a flow of high-energy, surplus steam substantially as produced from the ground. The apparatus comprises a first condenser in which most of the steam in the flow is condensed, and a first separator in which the steam condensate is separated from residual amounts of steam and non-condensable gases (including hydrogen sulfide). An after-cooler is provided for cooling the condensate to a disposal temperature of less than about 200.degree. F. before the condensate is discharged into a disposal well, the disposal temperature being such as to create a vacuum in the disposal well. A second condenser is provided in which is condensed a substantial amount of the steam in the mixture of residual steam and non-condensable gases, the condensate being separated from a mixture of residual steam and non-condensable gases in a second separator. Condensate from the second separator is combined with condensate from the after-cooler and is discharged therewith into the disposal well. The mixture of non-condensable gases and residual amounts of steam is also discharged from the second separator into the disposal well, being drawn thereinto by the vacuum in the well. A corresponding method is provided for treating a flow of geothermal steam so as to control hydrogen sulfide emissions therefrom.

摘要: A sonic welded gas mask and the process for fabricating the mask. The facepiece of the mask provides apertures, appropriately shaped and dimensioned to receive gas mask components for sealing therein. The elastomeric material of the facepiece of the mask is captured between sealing elements and secured therebetween by a sonic welding process. The method of fabrication described attaches and positively seals the elements into the mask. Direct voice communication and alternatively, electronic voice communication may be provided between a user and the external environment.

摘要: A compact pulse-rocket engine assembly comprising an elongated housing containing an axially extending substantially cylindrical combustion chamber terminating in a nozzle means at one end. An opposite end of the housing contains a pair of angularly disposed charging chambers. Intermediate the charging chambers and the combustion chamber are a pair of angularly disposed piston valve means. The arrangement of the valve means provides for the injection of propellants into the combustion chamber for impingement at the same point throughout the operation of the piston valve means.

摘要: A method or module for creating an Language Neutral Syntax (LNS) representation of a sentence from a language particular syntax representation such as found in the Penn Treebank for use by different applications. The method or module includes a node generator configured to create hierarchical and dependent nodes using phrasal and constituent nodes of the language particular syntax. A node dependency generator is configured to create an unordered hierarchical dependency structure for the hierarchical and dependent nodes using a semantic relation between the hierarchical and dependent nodes derived from the language particular syntax.

摘要: The present invention relates to systems and methods that determine intent for received data (e.g., email, voice, graphics . . . ) and respond to the data based on the intent. The systems and methods employ various combinations of features based on shallow and deep linguistic analysis (e.g., semantic and syntactic) to yield very high accuracy. The systems and methods analyze and categorize received data to locate data that can include intent. This data can be further refined by extracting features related to the intent. The features can be utilized by a classifier to determine the intent. If the intent warrants a response, the data are further scrutinized and reformulated to generate a description that is indicative of the intent. The reformulation can include representing the features in a logical form, transforming the form and generating a description of the intent that can be presented to a user visually and/or audibly.

摘要: A meter for visual determination of proper oxygen or gas flow to a facemask or cannula from a pressurized gas supply. The device features a body with a central cavity extending axially therein adapted for translation of a piston biased toward an incoming gas stream from the pressurized supply. A cup-shaped endwall of the piston increases the area on which the incoming air stream acts. The incoming air stream is focused to impact a center portion of the endwall at a higher rate of speed using a narrowing incoming conduit resulting in increased force and translation of the piston even under the low pressures in which cannulas operate. The piston translates to a point where it may be viewed alone or adjacent to indica to ascertain proper oxygen flow to the user, by a caretaker from a distance.
