摘要: Methods for managing preparation, delivery, and recycling of a medication for a patient are provided. In one aspect, a method includes interfacing with a medication preparation component, an inventory management component, a delivery management component, and a medication recycling management component. The medication preparation component fulfills a plurality of medication orders based on a first set of parameters. The medication preparation component cannot interface directly with the parameters for the other components. The method includes providing the medication preparation component the first set of parameters based on the parameters for the other components. In another aspect, a method includes receiving a plurality of medication orders, providing preparation instructions when a medication order cannot be fulfilled by unused medications, providing delivery instructions for the medications, and receiving delivery verifications. Machine-readable media are also provided.

摘要: A context-aware healthcare notification system may include a processor and a memory. The memory may include instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine when a user device is within a proximity of a healthcare device or a patient, receive information related to the healthcare device or patient from multiple healthcare systems, when the user device is determined to be within the proximity of the healthcare device or the patient, and transmit, to the user device over the communication network, at least a portion of the information. In one or more embodiments, the instructions, when executed by the processor, may further cause the processor to receive information from the healthcare device, when the user device is determined to be within the proximity of the healthcare device or the patient, and transmit, to the user device over the communication network, at least a portion of the information.

摘要: Identification information for a patient and a user responsible for administering a medication are received from a controller associated with an infusion device. When a medication is scanned and information from the scan is received the system determines whether the user is authorized to operate the infusion device to administer the medication to the patient. If more than one order is available for the patient, pending medication orders for the patient are determined and presented on the controller for selection by the user before the administration. When a selected order is confirmed to be for the patient, and the user is authorized, the controller programs the infusion device to administer the medication according to the selected order.

摘要: Systems and methods for determining the position of a fluid within a fluid source and infusion line coupled to an infusion flow control device are described herein. An exemplary system and method includes sampling fluid pressure upstream of an infusion pump, and calculating fluid pressure slope profiles. By sampling fluid pressure upstream of an infusion pump at discrete intervals and monitoring fluid pressure slope profiles, conditions of fluid flow, including unintentional fluid flow through an infusion line or a defective check valve in an infusion line, are detected, and fluid flow through an infusion pump is controlled.
