Abstract: An improved system, method and interface for automated rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) is disclosed which includes, in one aspect, a carrier population station comprising a workstation having a graphic user interface (GUI). The GUI accepts information from a lab technologist, including information related to a scope of testing to be performed on a patient sample. The GUI controls intelligent assignment of patient samples to test panels in a manner that maximize utilization of the test carrier by grouping together samples of similar tests scopes and advantageously testing those samples using one multiplexed test panel. Customizing workflow in accordance with test scope to facilitate parallel processing of multiple samples advantageously reduces laboratory waste, decreases test latencies, increases AST system throughput and efficiency, and thus lowers the costs to the AST lab.

Abstract: Systems, eye-mountable devices, and methods that facilitate chronotherapeutic treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma are provided which enable therapeutic products to be delivered to the eye in a controlled manner only when desired. According to one embodiment, an eye-mountable device comprises a substrate having an eye-mounting surface for positioning on an eye of a patient, a sensor that obtains a plurality of measurements representative of a condition of the eye of the patient over a period of time, a therapeutic agent delivery assembly coupled, and a processor for executing a temporal model of a therapeutic agent delivery in communication with the sensor and the therapeutic agent delivery assembly. The processor receives the plurality of measurements and activates the therapeutic agent delivery assembly to administer a first amount of a drug to the eye of the patient based on the temporal model associated with the plurality of measurements.

Abstract: The invention relates generally to medication therapy and more particularly to a system and methods for medication therapy management to support improved adherence and alert clinicians of changes in behavior or symptoms. The system may facilitate interactions between various data sources (e.g., medical health records, genomics databases, and other connected third-party devices) to manage workflow, execute rules, interface with knowledge bases, codify information, schedule events, provide notification, and more. In addition, the system may include a conversational or actionable artificial intelligence persona tailored to each user and configured to, for example, converse, instruct, and/or coach a user according to one or more features of the system. Advantageously, the system may improve adherence and facilitate patient engagement, care transition, and disease management, resulting in, for example, reduced healthcare costs for providers and payers, and enhanced drug use for pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmacies, and specialty pharmacies.

Abstract: Methods and systems for diagnosing and treating cancer include performing color deconvolution on an input image, stained according to a second staining process, to generate channels that correspond to dyes used in a first staining process and dyes using in the second staining process. Channels that correlate with a channel used to train a machine learning model are combined to produce a single combined channel. The combined channel is processed using the machine learning model to identify tumor cells. A positivity index is determined based on an output of the machine learning model to aid in medical decision making. A patient's treatment is automatically adjusted based on an output of the machine learning model.

Abstract: The present application relates to methods of personalized pharmaceutics. More specifically, the invention relates to methods for the production of pharmaceutical dosage forms, which are produced by 3D and/or 2D printing, whereby a wide variety of parameters relevant to the administration of the dosage form can be changed depending on the analysis of patient-and disease-specific data and can be adapted in the course of the patient's treatment. In this way, the quality of treatment for the patient can be improved in the future and significantly increased from the point of view of patient safety.

Abstract: In some examples, an apparatus, such as a mobile phone may include a camera, a processor, and computer readable medium. The camera capture one or more images of a person. The processor may use a machine learning model to predict the body volume of the person based on the captured images. The model may be trained based at a training data set comprising at least a plurality of user images. The apparatus may transmit the predicted body volume to a medication and medical treatment management system and receive from the same an adjusted medication or medical treatment plan. The apparatus may further execute the adjusted medication or medical treatment plan.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media that are useful for characterizing subjects having certain cancers, for example cancers typified by solid tumors. The disclosure is based, in part, on methods for determining a tumor microenvironment (TME) type of a cancer subject and determining the subject's prognosis and/or likelihood of responding to one or more therapies based upon the TME type determination.

Abstract: A medication risk mitigation method utilizing three interventions: a prospective intervention performed by a prescriber, a concurrent intervention performed by a pharmacist and a retroactive intervention performed by a pharmacist. At each intervention, the system of the instant invention utilizes a computer program to compare each prescribed medication to a series of intrinsic and extrinsic data sources in order to identify potential contraindications and, if necessary, modify a prescription. The system also permits secure messaging between prescribers and pharmacists, each with access to the computer program, so as to facilitate communication and reduce medication risks. The system of this invention also permits modeling for hypothetical medication modifications based on the same intrinsic and extrinsic data sources.

Abstract: Provided is a system (10) for determining a probability of an asthma exacerbation in a subject. The system comprises an inhaler (100) for delivering a rescue medicament to the subject. The inhaler has a use-detection system (12B) configured to determine a rescue inhalation performed by the subject using the first inhaler. A sensor system (12A) is configured to measure a parameter relating to airflow during the rescue inhalation. The system further comprises a processor (14) configured to determine a number of the rescue inhalations during a first time period, and receive the parameter measured for at least some of the rescue inhalations. The processor determines, using a weighted model, the probability of the asthma exacerbation based on the number of rescue inhalations and the parameters. The model is weighted such that the number of rescue inhalations is more significant in the probability determination than the parameters.
