Abstract: A bladed chassis system facilitates installation of the bladed chassis system and replacement of the blades at the chassis. For example, a front panel of the blade can be opened either upwardly or downwardly at the discretion of the user. Blades can be inserted and removed from the front and/or the rear of the bladed chassis system at the discretion of the user. Cables can be routed to the rear of the chassis system from either of two sides at the discretion of the user. The blades carried by the chassis have fiber management trays that can be rotationally oriented in any desired rotational position at the discretion of the user.

Abstract: A dust cap includes a cap body and a pair of opposing latches. The cap body is adapted to cover a connectorized end of a fiber optic connector and cable assembly when the connectorized end is inserted through an opening of an interior of the cap body. The cap body further includes an opposing pair of resilient walls. The pair of opposing latches each include latching features that extend outside of the interior of the cap body. The pair of opposing latches each further include a mounting portion mounted to a respective one of the opposing pair of resilient walls. The dust cap may further include a pulling interface. The pulling interface may be adapted to attach to a pulling member and may be positioned at a tapered nose of the cap body. The dust cap may thereby be a cable pulling cap and may pull a fiber optic connector and cable assembly through conduits and other narrow passages. A pair of opposing pulling halves may enclose the cable pulling cap or the dust cap without a pulling interface and at least a portion of the connectorized end of the fiber optic connector and cable assembly.

Abstract: A communications connection system includes an adapter module defining at least first and second ports and at least one media reading interface mounted at one of the ports. The first adapter module is configured to receive a fiber optic connector at each port. Some type of connectors may be formed as duplex connector arrangements. Some types of adapters may include ports without media reading interfaces. Some types of media reading interfaces include contact members having three contact sections.

Abstract: An example universal contact assembly includes plug contact members and a sensing contact member that are overmolded together to form a single unit. Example adapter block assembly include a first optical adapter; a first contact assembly disposed in an aperture defined in the first optical adapter; a first circuit board; and a retainer arrangement that holds the first circuit board to the first optical adapter with sufficient force to retain the first contact assembly within the aperture. Example retainer arrangements include a cover having flanges with tabs that deflect into cavities defined by the first optical adapter; clamp members that clamp a cover to the first optical adapter to hold the first circuit board therebetween; and a retention strip having barbs that attach to the first optical adapter and barbs that attach to the first printed circuit board.
