    Abstract: A PWM dimmer includes a source terminal, a load terminal, a power stage, an interface, and control circuitry. The power stage is coupled between the source terminal and the load terminal and is configured to receive from the source terminal an AC supply signal and provide a pulsed AC load signal to the load terminal in response to a control signal. The AC supply signal has a sinusoidal envelope with a positive half-cycle and a negative half-cycle for each cycle. The pulsed AC load signal tracks the envelope and includes a plurality of pulses in the positive half-cycle and the negative half-cycle for each cycle. The interface is configured to receive dimming control information bearing on a dimming level from a user or remote terminal. The control circuitry is configured to receive the dimming control information from the interface and generate the control signal based on the dimming control information.

    Abstract: An enclosure is divided into first and second portions by a theoretical plane defined by a horizontal line. LEDs are mounted on an LED board in the enclosure and are operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path. A first pin is mounted to a first end of the enclosure and a second pin mounted to a second end of the enclosure, both pins being in the electrical path. Braces support the LED board and comprise first and second legs. The first leg and second leg extend to a first point and a second point of intersection of the plane and the internal surface of the enclosure, respectively. A first conductor connects the first pin to the LED board and a second conductor connects the second pin to the LED board. The first conductor and first pin and the second conductor and the second pin are one-piece.

    Abstract: A solid-state lamp with an angular distribution optic is disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention can provide for improved luminous intensity distribution in the vertical plane for a vertically oriented solid-state lamp. A lamp according to some example embodiments of the invention includes at least one LED, an optically transmissive enclosure for the LED or LEDs, and a base. The lamp also includes a distribution optic conformably disposed in or on the base to conduct light for angularly distributed emission from the base of the lamp. In some embodiments, the lamp is dimensioned as a replacement for a candelabra type incandescent bulb. The distribution optic can be composed of any optical medium, and in some embodiments, may be from about 1 mm to about 5 mm thick. In some embodiments, the distribution optic is made of thermally conductive plastic.

    Abstract: A lighting controller comprises power circuitry, transmitter circuitry, a touch-sensitive panel, and processing circuitry. The power circuitry is configured to relay power from the lighting controller to a solid state lighting fixture wired to the lighting controller. The transmitter circuitry is configured to wirelessly exchange signals with the solid state lighting fixture. The touch-sensitive panel is configured to emit light and receive touch input from a user. The processing circuitry is electrically coupled to the power circuitry, the transmitter circuitry, and the touch-sensitive panel. The processing circuitry is configured to wirelessly control, via the transmitter circuitry, the attribute of light emitted by the solid state lighting fixture in accordance with the touch input received via the touch-sensitive panel and control the light emitted from the touch-sensitive panel to indicate the attribute as the attribute is wirelessly controlled.
