Abstract: A filter element for fuel, oil or other engine fluids, with an endplate that is designed to create flow paths for both clean and dirty regions. The filter element is part of a spin-on filter that is attachable to a filter head in an engine and that filters fuel, oil or other engine fluids. A pre-fill cap can be integrally incorporated onto the endplate to permit pre-filling and installation without removing components.

Abstract: A fluid filter device is described, where a flow attachment member provides a unique interface between the filtering element and a filter head. The fluid filter described herein generally provides a flow structure that is localized and sealed. The flow attachment member is configured to communicate fluid into and out of the fluid filter, and is configured to localize fluid flow both into and out of the fluid filter within a separating structure of the flow attachment member. The flow attachment member further includes a seal structure configured to substantially prevent or at least confine leakage to a localized area away from proximity of the edges of the housing.

The spring tube bypass assembly includes a first center tube and a spring. The spring tube bypass assembly is configured such that fluid flow through the bypass flow opening is blocked when a fluid pressure acting on the filter cartridge is below a predetermined pressure and fluid may flow through the bypass filter opening when the fluid pressure acting on the filter cartridge exceeds the predetermined pressure.
