    摘要: A flat fluorescent lamp (FFL) is provided. Strip electrodes of the FFL include a plurality of electrode branches, and a plurality of dielectric branches is arranged around the electrode branches, so as to increase the coating area of the fluorescent material. The distribution position of the fluorescent material may be adjusted by the dielectric branches, thus enhancing the brightness of the FFL and improving the uniformity of the output light. The present invention further provides a liquid crystal display which utilizes the FFL as a backlight source for achieving a better display effect.

The liquid crystal display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate has a flat plate, an active area, and a sealant supporting element disposed on a surface of the flat plate. The active area is encircled by the sealant supporting element. In addition, the sealant supporting element includes a top surface and a sealant trench concaving the top surface. A sealant is disposed in the sealant trench, and first substrate is connected to the second substrate by the sealant. Furthermore, the sealant is formed in the sealant trench for isolating the sealant from the liquid crystal layer.

    摘要: A method for fabricating a step-formed patterned layer is provided. First, a first patterned photo-resist dry film is formed on a first material layer. Next, a second material layer is formed on the first material layer and covers the first patterned photo-resist dry film. A second patterned photo-resist dry film is then formed on a second material layer, and the patterns of the first patterned photo-resist dry film and the second patterned photo-resist dry film are different and the second patterned photo-resist dry film further exposes the second material layer over the first patterned photo-resist dry film. Subsequently, the first material layer and the second material layer are partially removed by using the first patterned photo-resist dry film and the second patterned photo-resist dry film as a mask. The first patterned photo-resist dry film and the second patterned photo-resist dry film are then removed.

    摘要: A transflective mode liquid crystal display (LCD) combines advantages of a transmissive mode display and a reflective mode display, and has high display quality under different indoor and outdoor ambient lights. But the transflective mode LCD brings problems of non-uniform brightness, poor contrast ratio, and non-uniform color between a transmissive area and a reflective area if light rays passing through the transmissive area and the reflective area in the transflective mode LCD are improperly controlled. Thus, an overall transmissive and reflective mode LCD is provided, which not only has all the advantages of the transmissive mode display and the reflective mode display, but also improves a brightness of a panel, and solves the problems of non-uniform brightness, poor contrast ratio, and non-uniform color.
