    摘要: The invention provides in combination, an electronic article surveillance system for disposition in an area to be subjected to such surveillance and control circuitry connected with the system, the system generating a readiness signal when prepared to effect electronic article surveillance and being thereafter responsive to an input signal to commence electronic article surveillance, the control circuitry being responsive to the readiness signal selectively to generate the input signal and being adapted to suppress generation of the input signal responsively to further input to the control circuitry indicative of the existence of a predetermined condition. The predetermined condition is the presence in the area of a further electronic surveillance system which has not generated its readiness signal, and the invention looks to interconnecting the further system to the control circuitry.

    摘要: An EAS system in which a transmitter transmits an RF transmitter signal into an interrogation zone and a receiver receives RF signals from the interrogation zone. The received RF signals include any RF tag signals generated by tags situated in the zone and adapted to respond to the RF transmitter signal. In order to reduce interference effects, the RF carrier frequency of the transmitter signal is adapted to take on a plurality of different frequency values during different ones of a plurality of finite dwell time periods of the RF transmitter signal.

The method comprises: identifying each item of a plurality of items that is being removed from display equipment by the person; determining whether the person is performing an action associated with a potential theft of the item that was previously removed from the display equipment by the person; and perform actions to initiate a customer service based interaction in response to a determination that the person is performing the action associated with the potential theft of the item. The customer service based interaction is initiated with the person such that the person is deterred from committing theft. Notably, the person is at a location within a facility other than at an exit of the facility when the customer service based interaction occurs.
