    Abstract: Improvements in a weight bar locking mechanism that secures a zig-sag or bent curling bar or straight bar. Curl bars have only limited areas where the bar can be rested where the bar is perpendicular to the weights. The central area is typically fairly narrow in dimension and placing the curl bar on this central area can be difficult and is the bar is not placed into the central area the curl be can be unbalanced. The locking mechanism captures both the top and bottom of the curl bar to lock the bar and prevents the curl bar from falling if the curl bar is not properly placed onto the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism forces the retained sides of the curl bar like an over-center torsion bar type arrangement to forces both sides of the curl bar to be essentially parallel orientation.

    Abstract: Improvements in an exercise machine where the fan blades alter the resistance created by the blades or vanes by moving a cone that pushes the blades out from a central position. The blades or vanes push against the cone with springs. The cone is then moved into or out of the central axle to alter the effective diameter of the blades or vanes. A twist or contouring of the blades or vanes can be obtained at the same time to alter the resistance. In another embodiment, the fan blades can be individually or collectively adjusted to change the resistance. As the diameter is increased the speed of the blade tips increases as a squared function of the radius without changing the rotational speed of the vane(s). The shape, angle, scoop or tilt of the blade or vanes can also be altered to change the resistance.

    Abstract: An abdominal muscle exercise machine that generally contains a diagonal member with an adjustable seat and a backrest and a pivot member that pivots with respect to the diagonal member. A chest push can be mechanically coupled to the pivot member through an adjustable force multiplier. An optional counterweight can be placed near one end of the pivot member to lighten the force, or an optional load weight can be placed near the other end of the pivot member to increase the force. The pivot member can be constructed to telescope or otherwise adjust for different body sizes. The machine provides a smooth exercise where the top and bottom portions of the body move together in a linked fashion. The machine of the present invention works without heavy external weights.

    Abstract: For many inversion benches, a user must temporarily lock their ankles into the bench prior to inversion. If the ankles are not properly locked into the bench, the user can slide or fall out of the bench and cause injury. The safety key provides a clear visual indication that the key has been properly inserted regardless of the viewing angle before inversion of the bench begins. The safety key identifies improper insertion and include a spring loaded pin and inner shaft that engages into aligned locating holes in the inversions bench. The safety pin has two wings that fold, extend or tip from the body of key. In addition to the visual appearance, a user who is completely blind can also feel the sides to the key to determine if the key has been properly inserted into the inversion bench.
