Abstract:
A transportable power wheelchair is provided which employs a variety of detachable modules to facilitate transportation and storage. The wheelchair may be readily disassembled/reassembled by a single individual without assistance and/or the need for special tools. The wheelchair includes a power supply unit, a pair of primary drive wheels, and a drive train subassembly mounting and independently driving each at least one of the drive wheels. First and second main frame subassemblies preferably have mounted thereon one of the drive train subassemblies. The power supply unit is also detachably mounted therebetween. At least one cross member assembly connects the main frame subassemblies. The cross member assembly, in combination with the main frame subassemblies, define the main frame assembly. A seat is also detachably mounted to the main frame assembly by means of the cross members.

Abstract:
A front wheel drive powered wheelchair is provided and may include a support frame, a pair of opposing drive wheels, a pair of drives, and a pair of rear wheels. The frame may include a front portion, a seat post, and two independent arms extending rearward from the front portion. Each drive wheel may be coupled to the front portion of the frame. Each drive may be mounted to the front portion of the frame and may be operatively connected to a respective drive wheel of the pair of drive wheels. Each rear wheel may be coupled to a respective independent arm of the support frame. Each independent arm may be capable of flexing independent of the other.

Abstract:
A vehicle is disclosed having a pair of drive wheels, at least one ground-engaging front wheel connected to the frame forward of the drive wheels and at least one ground-contacting anti-tip wheel mounted to the vehicle rearward of the drive wheels. The drive wheels and anti-tip wheels are mounted on common suspension arms, pivoted to the frame of the vehicle behind the drive wheels and resiliently suspended, so that the anti-tip wheels move up and down in response to movements of the drive wheel suspension.
Abstract:
An adjustable seat support assembly for a wheelchair. The seat support assembly includes a seat bottom frame and a seat back frame. The seat bottom frame has at least two spaced apart beams. Each beam includes at least one channel that extends along at least a portion of the beam. Preferably the channel extends along the entire length of the beam. A seat plate is mounted to and extends between the beams. The seat back frame includes two vertical supports. Each support has an upper end and a lower end. At least one back frame cross-bar is attached to and extends between the vertical supports. A mounting bracket is attached to the lower end of each support and removably attached to a channel in one of the beams. Preferably there are two or more channels formed in each beam, one channel in the bottom and the other in the side.
Abstract:
The present invention is a portable work station which is designed to be used in motor vehicles. The work station is a cabinet which is capable of being secured to a passenger seat of the motor vehicle, preferably by an attached securing means. There is provided a computer tray which is adapted to be releasable attachable to the work surface of the work station and capable of being received within the interior of the work station. An alternate embodiment of the present invention provides a computer tray which is attached to an articulated cantilever system which, when the lid to the main compartment is opened, projects and presents the computer tray and any computer which is secured thereon.
Abstract:
A curb-climbing rear wheel drive power wheelchair is disclosed having a pair of drive wheels, at least one ground-engaging idler wheel connected to the frame forward of the drive wheels and at least one anti-tip wheel mounted above ground aft of the drive wheels. Each drive wheel and an associated drive assembly are mounted to a motor support bracket that is pivoted to the frame of the wheelchair. The drive assembly is mounted such that its motor is angled upward and rearward from the bracket. The anti-tip wheel is attached to one motor support bracket such that pivoting of the motor support bracket causes vertical displacement of the anti-tip wheel.
