摘要: A container for a volatile liquid in a liquid dispensing device comprises a body and a neck extending from the body to define an opening. A retention structure is integral with the container body and is adapted to be releasably engaged with two opposing sidewalls of a housing of the dispensing device. The sidewalls are spaced apart in a first direction, and the retention structure is inhibits motion of the container in two opposing directions generally transverse to the first direction. The retention structure may be located on a side of the container body. A capillary member extends from inside the container to an exterior of the container. The volatile liquid migrates along the capillary member from the reservoir to the exterior of the container where it is evaporated from the surface of the capillary member by forced airflow generated by a motorized fan mounted in the housing.

摘要: An emulsion polish that includes a non-volatile silicone fluid, a liquid polyether siloxane immiscible with water and the silicon fluid, and a surfactant to stabilize the emulsion. The polyether siloxane has a specific gravity less than that of the silicone fluid. A process for treating a hard surface with such a polish is also disclosed.

摘要: An improved aqueous fabric cleaning shampoo composition contains a combination of (a) about 0.5-20% by weight of a fabric cleaning polymer which is a solid at 25.degree. C. and water dispersible or water soluble upon neuturalization with an alkaline compound such as a polymer of methacrylic acid/styrene/n-butyl acrylate, (b) about 0.1-10% by weight of a specific type of wax having a melting point of at least 50.degree. C. such as pressure-emulsified polyethylene wax and (c) about 0.05-5% by weight of a silicone betaine polymer in addition to an effective amount of at least one conventional anionic, nonionic, amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactant in water at a pH of from about 7 to about 10.5. Such a fabric cleaning shampoo composition not only provides good cleaning and conditioning to fabrics, particularly synthetic fibre fabrics, such as those used in carpets as well as to upholstery and pile fabrics, but also provides soil resistance to the fabric cleaned with such a composition.

摘要: A method of improving the stability and broadening the range of pH stability of an aqueous solution of from about 0.001% to 5% by weight of a water soluble organosilane containing hydrolyzable groups such as methyltrimethoxysilane, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethyldi(decyl) ammonium chloride by the use of 0.05% to 10% by weight of a water soluble organic quaternary ammonium compound having at least one nitrogen-bonded hydrocarbon group of at least 8 carbon atoms and being free of silicon atoms, such as benzalkonium chloride, along with from about 0.5% to 30% by weight of at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of nonionic, amphoteric sarcosine anionic, and cationic surfactants other than the water soluble quaternary ammonium compounds. The pH of the solution can be adjusted to from about 1 to about 13.5 with a suitable acid or base. The resulting stable aqueous solutions are useful for depositing the water soluble organosilane on a variety of substrates to, among other things, serve as coupling agents, waterproofing agents and to render substrates antimicrobial and algicidal depending upon the nature of the organosilane.

摘要: This case relates to tough, wear resistant graded structure composites, to a process for preparing the same and to tools and products fabricated therefrom. The composites have a surface layer e.g. of WC and a binder, an interface layer, e.g. which is a stepwise transition from the surface layer whereby the binder content thereof gradually increases, a substrate layer which is a combination of e.g. an initial high carbon steel layer and finally a base layer of bainitic steel. The composites are substantially non-porous and can be used to fabricate components such as drill bits, wear plates, pump components machine tools, seals, washers, bearings and the like.

摘要: A process for comparing the dust retention properties of various treated and untreated hard surfaces, within a dust retaining enclosure, that includes subjecting the surfaces to be compared, previously coated with a standardized layer of dust, to a standardized dust dislodging force sufficient to dislodge dust from at least one of the surfaces, determining any increase in the quantity of dust particles in the atmosphere within the enclosure as a result of the dust dislodging force, and comparing the relative amounts of dust particles found in within the enclosure for the surfaces.
