Abstract: A system for generating biochar includes a reactor body with a wall defining a substantially cylindrical shape and comprising a first end positioned opposite a second end and defining an opening extending through the reactor body. A conduit is positioned within the reactor body, extends across the opening, and defines a slot configured to direct a fluid toward the first end. An extraction cone is coupled with the first end of the reactor body and is configured to direct biochar away from the reactor body. A cover is coupled with the second end of the reactor body and is configured to direct exhaust gas away from the reactor body.

Abstract: A biochar production system includes a reactor body, a central rod disposed within the reactor body, a leveling arm extending from the central rod and configured to rotate about the central rod, and a bed level sensor system. The bed level sensor system includes a float configured to move from a resting position on a biomass in the reactor to an ending position upon contact with the leveling arm, and a level sensor coupled to the float via a connector. The level sensor is configured to correspondingly move with the float. A controller is configured to detect bed levels of the biomass within the reactor body, and determine a plurality of sample readings based on the detected bed levels.

Abstract: A combustion engine and a method of operating the combustion engine are disclosed. The method comprises supplying a charge gas to the combustion chamber through an intake port; discharging a cryogenic fuel in a liquid state from a fuel injector in fluid communication with the combustion chamber; closing an intake valve to close the combustion chamber; and actuating a piston during a compression cycle to compress the charge gas and the cryogenic fuel. At least a portion of the cryogenic fuel evaporates in the closed combustion chamber.
