    Abstract: A motor control device includes an energization control unit and an excessive return determination unit. The energization control unit controls energization to a motor. The excessive return determination unit determines whether or not there is a possibility of an excessive return exceeding an allowable return position, when a non-energization return control is performed to return a motor in a direction away from a movable limit position by an external force generated in the rotation transmission system by turning off the energization to the motor after driving the motor to the movable limit position where the drive is restricted by the drive limiting portion. When it is determined that there is no possibility of the excessive return, the energization is continuously turned off, and when it is determined that there is a possibility of the excessive return, a stop control configured to stop the motor by energizing is performed.

    Abstract: A shift range control device that switches a shift range by controlling driving of a motor includes a plurality of control units and a plurality of motor drivers. The plurality of control units respectively have an energization control unit for controlling energization to the motor and an abnormality monitor unit for performing abnormality monitoring. The energization control unit turns off energization of the own system in a state of temporary abnormality before determining a decisive abnormality when abnormality affecting the other system is detected in the own system while driving the motor by the plurality of systems, and the abnormality monitor unit determines whether a state of abnormality is the temporary abnormality or the decisive abnormality after turning off energization of the own system.

    Abstract: During changing of a shift range (for example, from P-range to NotP-range), an SBW-ECU determines whether it is in a range-change delay condition (a switching completion time of the shift range is delayed than a normal switching completion time). When it is determined that it is in the range-change delay condition, it is determined whether a target range should be changed to a safer range (for example, P-range). As a result, when it is determined that the target range should be changed to the safer range, the target range is changed to the safer range. Thereby, even if a driver determines that the shift range cannot be changed before the switching completion of the shift range and the driver gets off the vehicle, the shift range can be changed to the safer range (P-range).

    Abstract: A motor controller that is configured to switch power supply phases of the motor, to perform a limit-position abutment control by rotating the motor to a movable limit of a movable range of the rotation object to learn a reference position of the motor, perform a power-saving return control afterwards, in which a power supply to the motor is stopped, thereby returning a rotation position of the motor toward a target rotation position, and stop the rotation of the motor by simultaneously supplying power to a preset phase of the motor, when the rotation position of the motor reaches the target rotation position. In such manner, the power consumption as well as the heat generation of the motor are reduced for returning the rotation position of the motor to a preset rotation position after the abutment control of the motor.

    Abstract: In a butting control, while performing a constant current control for a motor based on an output of a current sensor, the motor is driven by sequentially switching over a current supply phase of the motor in a one-phase current supply method, in which only one of the phases of the motor is powered. By performing the constant current control in the butting control, changes in a current value of each phase caused by temperature changes or aging changes is suppressed and hence a torque change of the motor is suppressed. In addition, by sequentially switching over the current supply phase of the motor in the one phase current supply method under the constant current control, a torque change of the motor can be suppressed while maintaining the current value of the current supply phase at a constant value.

    Abstract: An actuator control apparatus including a by-wire control circuit, a monitor circuit, a drive determination section, and a prohibition section is provided. The by-wire control circuit electrically controls an actuator acting as a drive source of an on-board apparatus. The monitor circuit monitors whether or not the by-wire control circuit is normally operating. The monitor circuit is provided separately from the by-wire control circuit. The drive determination section determines prohibition and permission of driving the actuator. The prohibition section prohibits the actuator from being driven when the permission of driving the actuator is not determined by the drive determination section. The prohibition section also prohibits the actuator from being driven when the monitor circuit determines that the by-wire control circuit is not normally operating.

    Abstract: In a range switchover control apparatus, a microcomputer checks, under a state that driving force of a motor is released, whether a range switchover mechanism is at rest and whether the range switchover mechanism is at rest in a bottom position, that is, whether an engagement member is fitted deep into a bottom of a range holding recess. If the range switchover mechanism is at rest in the bottom position, an encoder count value at a reference position (bottom position of a P-range) is calculated based on a present range and an encoder count value. By using the present range and the calculated encoder count value, an encoder count value of the bottom position of the present range can be determined. Based on this encoder count value, the encoder count value at the reference position can be calculated.

    Abstract: When a failure of a feedback control operation of an electric motor is sensed, a control unit changes the feedback control operation to an open loop control operation. At the time of executing the open loop control operation, the control unit sequentially changes the exciting phase of the motor without executing feedback of information of the count value of the encoder counter and rotates a rotor of the motor until a count value of an exciting phase change counter reaches an open loop target count value, which corresponds to a target rotational position of the rotor. When the control unit changes the feedback control operation to the open loop control operation, the control unit sets the open loop target count value by correcting a feedback target count value based on an exciting phase deviation correction value for the count value of the encoder counter.
