    Abstract: The present invention relates to a chain link comprising a strip comprising warp yarns and weft yarns, with the warp yarns containing warp yarn A and warp yarn B, with the minimum creep rate of warp yarn B being higher than the minimum creep rate of warp yarn A, wherein the strip comprises a longitudinal core section and at least two longitudinal edge sections, and wherein the concentration of warp yarn A in the core section is higher than the concentration of yarn A in the edge sections of the strip and the concentration of warp yarn B in the edge sections is higher than the concentration of warp yarn B in the core section of the strip. The invention also relates to a chain comprising said chain link and to use of said chain in different applications.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a chain comprising a plurality of chain links comprising a polymeric fiber and wherein said chain comprises at least one spacer having a thickness Δ at the contact location through which loads are directly transmitted between said chain links and a ratio Δ/τ=f, with τ being the thickness of any of the chain links at the contact location through which loads are directly transmitted between said chain links and f being in a range between 0.10 and 2.50.     Abstract: Composite panel comprising at least one layer containing at least one tape comprising a thermoplastic polymer selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, polyesters, polyvinyl alcohols, polyacrylonitriles, polyamides or polyketone, wherein the tape has a tensile strength of at least 1.2 GPa and an areal density of between 5 and 150 g/m2, and an adhesive in contact with said layer, whereby the amount of the adhesive in contact with one side of the at least one layer is between 0.2 and 15 g/m2, wherein the adhesive is a plastomer wherein said plastomer is a random copolymer of ethylene or propylene and one or more C2 to C12 a-ol-efin co-monomers and wherein said plastomer has a density as measured according to 1801183 of between 860 and 930 kg/m3. In a preferred embodiment the tape comprises an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. The composite panel is used in a ballistic resistant article.

    Abstract: A chain is provided which includes a plurality of interconnected chain-links. At least one chain-link of the chain has a braided core which includes a first primary strand having polymeric elongated elements having a tenacity of at least 1.0 N/tex. The braided core is braided from at least 2 consecutive turns of the primary strand. Also disclosed is a braided endless shaped element suitable as chain-link for the chain as well as a chain which has a tenacity (Ten) in N/Tex and a combined titer of the 2 legs of the chain-link having polymeric elongated elements (T) in MTex satisfying the relationship of Ten≥0.50*T−0.05.
