Abstract: The present invention relates to stabilising compositions, particularly stabilising compositions which can be used to stabilise insulation or semi-conductive compositions, such as are used for electrically insulating wires and cables. The stabilising composition comprises: a first stabilising component comprising at least one fully hindered phenolic antioxidant; a second stabilising component comprising at least one partially hindered phenolic antioxidant; and a third stabilising component comprising at least one sulphur-containing antioxidant.

Abstract: A nanocable in which the thickness of a core including a wire of first conductor is reduced and a layer of second conductor containing carbon nanotube is introduced, thereby achieving a cable having an ultrafine wire diameter and preventing current intensity from decreasing due to an increase in resistance because of the ultrafine wire diameter. The nanocable is configured such that a polymer layer (an insulating layer) is interposed between the core including a wire of first conductor and the layer of second conductor, thus preventing current intensity from decreasing due to an increase in resistance attributable to the ultrafine wire diameter while ensuring a cable having an external diameter ranging from ones of μm to hundreds of μm and having a nano-sized core diameter, whereby the nanocable can be utilized in medical instruments such as endoscopic tools.

Abstract: A method for preparing a polymer insulated cable including a semiconductive layer surrounding a polymeric insulation layer includes: cutting the semiconductive layer by grinding a circumferential dividing groove in the semiconductive layer using a rotating grinding surface, wherein the dividing groove defines first and second semiconductive sections of the semiconductive layer on opposed sides of the dividing groove; and thereafter removing the second semiconductive section from the polymeric insulation layer while retaining the first semiconductive section on the polymeric insulation layer.
