摘要： The present invention relates to a light-controlling element comprising a polymer gel composition layer containing: a holding member; liquid held by the holding member; and a stimulus-responsive polymer gel which is held by the holding member and which changes in volume by absorbing or discharging the liquid due to an external stimulus, wherein the stimulus-responsive polymer gel is arranged in a single layer in the holding member, and also relates to a method for manufacturing the element. The polymer gel composition layer can be provided with a substrate on one side or both sides thereof, and further can be provided with a stimulus providing member.

摘要： The present invention provides a polymer gel composition including: at least two polymer compounds which interact with each other to form a polymer complex; and a liquid. One of the polymer compounds forms a three-dimensional crosslinked structure, at least one other polymer compound is compatible with the liquid, and at least a portion of the compatible polymer compound is included in the three-dimensional crosslinked structure. Preferably, when the polymer complex is disassembled or decomposed by stimuli, the polymer compound forming the three-dimensional crosslinked structure changes its volume by absorbing or releasing the liquid. The three-dimensional crosslinked structure is preferably in a particle shape. An optical device using such a polymer gel composition is also provided.

摘要： An optical element includes a pair of a transparent substrate and a back substrate which face each other with a predetermined gap by a spacer, and, a pair of the first electrode and the second electrode, and a periodic structural body as an optical composition for a multi-color display and an electrolytic solution are disposed within the gap of the transparent substrate and the back substrate. Metal ions contained in the electrolytic solution are deposited as metal atoms onto the periodic structural body of the optical composition for a multi-color display, to change a structural color of the periodic structural body. Display that can display a color and has a memory property can be obtained.
