摘要: In a Grid computer system having a plurality of download servers in network communication with client computers and a download management system, a client requests a download plan from the download management system for downloading data in parallel from the plurality of download servers to a client. The client requests chunks of data from download servers identified by the download plan. The client monitors the performance of the download servers downloading the chunks and reassigns portions of chunks amongst the download servers in order to improve the performance of completing the download of the chunks. A chunk of download data is a plurality of files, a file or a portion of file of data.

摘要: The present invention is an encapsulated substrate, and in particular, a substrate encapsulated with a low melt vegetable oil. The use of a low melt vegetable oil has several advantages over conventional vegetable oil products, especially when used in food systems. In one embodiment, the low melt vegetable oil is a high laurate vegetable oil, and in particular, a canola high laurate vegetable oil. In another embodiment, a food grade acid is encapsulated with a low melt oil, and the encapsulated acid is used in the manufacture of low temperature meat products such as sausage. In another embodiment, a live culture of microorganisms is encapsulated using the low melt vegetable oil.

摘要: An underwater appendage for sailboats, such as a keel or rudder, is fitted with an external shell-like shroud, which is placed around a core portion of the appendage such that the outer shroud forms a deformable water foil which is fastened on both sides of the core near its rear or trailing edge, and which shroud is everywhere else spaced away from the core. This deformable shroud forms a hydrofoil, the leading edge of which can be displaced to either side of the core by means of inflatable bladders placed on either side of the core, thus creating a desired angle of attack for the deformable foil, either to port or starboard. Inflation of the bladder on the windward side of the boat creates an angle of attack to windward and also a bulging of the shrouded water foil on the windward side creating the desired hydrodynamic lift to counter the lateral component of the aerodynamic force on the sail. As the boat is turned through the wind, onto the opposite tack, the pressure on the bladder is relaxed as it becomes the leeward bladder, and pressure on the opposite bladder is increased as it becomes the windward bladder. Pressure on both bladders can be relaxed when no lift is desired as when running before the wind.

摘要: Dental pulp healing lining or capping compositions and methods of using the composition to treat an exposed, nearly exposed, or breached pulp chamber are disclosed herein. Embodiments include dental pulp healing lining or capping compositions comprising a resin portion having at least one hydrophilic monomer component and at least one hydrophobic monomer component and a calcareous material operable to both provide a biological seal and maintain an alkaline pH for extended periods. Further, light curable compositions are disclosed, allowing for improved curing properties, and allowing permanent restorations to be adhered to the sealed tooth without waiting a significant amount of time for the Portland cement portion to cure.

摘要: It is becoming more common for diesel engine cylinders to include an engine compression release brake that can utilize energy built up in the cylinder to provide additional braking for the vehicle. The present invention utilizes a software diagnostic test that is stored in an electronic control module to detect defects in the engine compression release brakes. In particular, the present invention operates a first portion of the engine cylinders in a power mode and a second portion of the engine cylinders in a braking mode and compares a resulting fuel injector response or engine response to an expected value to determine if one or more of the engine compression release brakes are performing as expected.
