    摘要: The present invention provides a standardized mechanical interface (SMIF) reticle pod that is configured to provide a controlled environment for supporting a reticle wherein the controlled environment is maintained substantially free of crystal growth causing contaminants. Accordingly, there is provided a layered filter with filter elements capable of filtering particulates and adsorbing gaseous contaminants. The filter has an inwardly facing face generally planar shaped with a surface area that is substantially half or more of the area of the reticle face. The inwardly facing face is placed in close proximity to the reticle patterned surface and has an area that is a significant fraction of the reticle patterned surface area. The SMIF pod is also provided with a purge system configured to inject a very dry gas within the controlled environment to flush the controlled environment of contaminants as well as to regenerate the filter.

    摘要: Target apparatus for use in the training of weapon direct fire, including a structure (1) in which a weapon can be placed and which forms a screen (3) of concave truncated spherical shape, at least one target image projector (4 ) located within the structure (1) for projecting a target image (T) onto the screen (3), with the projector (4) being mounted for universal movement so as to be capable of moving the projected target image (T) over the screen (3), and a visible laser projector (8) located on or adjacent the weapon to produce a visual indication (P) on the screen (3) by a projected beam of visible light, of at least a final portion of the flight path of the simulated fired projectile or missile, corresponding to the position at which the weapon was aimed when fired, for a projectile or missile whose trajectory or flight path cannot be controllably varied after firing, or corresponding to the position at which the weapon was aimed when fired and as subsequently controllably varied, for a projectile or missile whose trajectory or flight path can be controllably varied after firing. The target image projector (4) is located in the structure at the center of curvature of the concave truncated spherical shaped screen (3). An infra-red projector (9) may be included to project a beam of radiation along the line of sight of the weapon together with a detector (10) for this beam. The projector (8) may be operable to indicate visually on the screen (3) the impact of a missile or sequence of projectiles on the target image (T) and/or the whole of the flight path of the missile or projectile.

    摘要: The invention in one variation is a pressure vessel having a pair of hemispheres with a wall and a circular edge, a pair of sealing elements, and an intervening mounting plate with circular groove on both sides of the plate. The hemispheres are mounted on opposite sides of the plate. Each groove has an sealing element and the circular edge. A seal is formed between the plate and a hemisphere when the hemisphere is pressed against the sealing element. Pressure can be generated by creating a partial vacuum in the sealed hemispheres or by using clamps. When exposed to higher pressures, such as when the vessel is used underwater, the pressure on the hemispheres is conveyed to the sealing element forming an even tighter seal. The vessel has interface connections that enable communication to and from devices mounted inside. The vessels are modular and can be ganged to provide redundancy or different functions.

    摘要: A brake mechanism for a beam trolley on a beam has a body member on the beam trolley adjacent the beam. The body member has a recess and axially aligned bores and a rotatable lateral pin extends through the aligned bores. The lateral pin has a rotatable elongate cam portion extending across the recess, and a brake pad is in the recess adjacent to the beam and abutting the cam portion. A handle is connected to the lateral pin for rotating the pin and the cam portion to displace the brake pad against the beam. The brake pad frictionally secures the beam trolley on the beam and locks the rotatable cam in place. Rounded end portions on opposite ends of the lateral pin and sleeve-like bushings between the axially aligned bores and rounded end portions permit rotation of the cam portion by the handle.

    摘要: A training or test device is provided operable to allow actual firing of a pulsed laser range finder in safe conditions for training or test purposes. This device, having a reflected laser beam radiation receiver and an associated range distance indicator, includes a pulsed laser light trap having a housing (2) attachable over an output aperture of the laser to receive and dissipate safely a beam of radiation therefrom without emission of an eye damaging amount of radiation. The device includes a pair of surfaces (5,6) in the housing for receiving an incident laser beam from the range finder, when fired, and for dissipating the received laser beam, at least one detector (7) operable to register the presence of the laser beam in the housing (2) and provide a corresponding output signal, a timer for receiving the output signal from the at least one detector (7) and imparting a delay period to the output signal corresponding to the time normally taken for the laser beam to reach an object at a predetermined range and return therefrom and a source (10) of a simulated return signal operable in response to the delayed output signal received from the timer to provide a simulated reflected laser beam return signal. The simulated return signal is fed to the reflected laser beam radiation receiver for consequent operation of the associated range distance indicator.
