摘要： An Optical Network Unit, ONU, and an Optical Line Terminal, OLT, as well as a respective method therein, are provided for enabling the ONU to communicate with the OLT. The ONU and at least one OLT are comprised in a passive fibre optic access network. The passive fibre optic access network comprises two fibre paths through the network, a main fibre path and a back-up fibre path, connecting the ONU with the OLT. When a fault is detected in the main fibre path is detected, transmission rate negotiation is performed between the ONU and the OLT over the back-up path. When a transmission rate is agreed upon between the ONU and the OLT during said transmission rate negotiation with regard to communication over the back-up path, the communication between the ONU and the OLT is executed using the agreed transmission rate over the back-up path.

摘要： When data containing an unrecoverable error is received, instead of discarding the data, a lower protocol layer delivers the data to a higher protocol layer along with an indication that the data contains an error. The higher protocol layer parses the data to recover portions that are not affected by the error. Additionally, the higher protocol layer can choose to accept the data if certain acceptance criteria are met.

The database system comprises a tuple storage module that receives multidimensional data elements, where each multidimensional data element is defined by a plurality of different object types, and where each object is associated with a different dimension within a multidimensional data space. The tuple storage module further forms a respective tuple for each of the multidimensional data elements by mapping each object to an associated reference and applies a Hilbert function to the references of each of the tuples to determine a respective Hilbert ordering for each of the tuples. The system further comprises a linear data storage structure that includes a B-tree for storing the Hilbert ordering.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for a network element or server end station to determine an estimated physical location of a fault in a communications link utilized by two network elements. In an embodiment, the first and second network elements generate link failure indications including time values representing when the respective network element detected the fault. In other embodiments, the link failure indications include time values transmitted over the communications link between the first and second network elements. A time distance between these time values is calculated, which is used to calculate the estimated physical location of the fault. In some embodiments, the link failure indications include sequence numbers transmitted or about to be transmitted over the communications link between the network elements. Sequence distances are calculated between the sequence numbers, and are used to calculate the estimated physical location of the fault.

摘要： An Optical Line Termination (OLT) system in a multi-wavelength Passive Optical Network (PON) includes a protection port for protecting a set of OLT ports without the use of a physical switch. The protection port has a tunable transceiver. The OLT system detects a failure of one of the OLT ports, which was originally adapted to transmit downstream traffic to a subset of ONUs on a downstream wavelength and to receive upstream traffic from the subset of ONUs on an upstream wavelength. In response to the detection, the OLT system tunes the protection port to the downstream wavelength for transmission and to the upstream wavelength for reception, and resumes communication between the OLT system and the subset of ONUs through the protection port instead of the OLT port.
