摘要: Systems and methods for controlling a delay associated with paging a remote device. In one implementation, a paging device arranges page operations such that if one of two consecutive page scans performed by a remote device occurs during a response scan, the other page scan occurs during the transmission of a page. In another implementation, a device scanning for a page arranges page scans such that if one of two consecutive page scans occurs during a page response scan, the other page scan occurs during the transmission of a page. In another implementation, a device scanning for a page performs a series of sets of separate page scans, wherein the time interval between two of separate scans in a set is less than the time interval between adjacent sets. The page scans in a set are configured to ensure that one of them occurs during the transmission of a page.

摘要: Method and apparatus for transmission of information in multiple access communication system is claim. Information using incremental redundancy is transmitted. A determination is made as to whether reverse link performance drops below a predetermined threshold. Determination of reverse link performance may be done in variety of ways, including use of a filter percentage of ACK erasures, measured error rates on the reverse link control channel, reverse link data channel error rates, and other methods. Upon determination of channel degradation, the access point can decide whether to ignore messages sent from the access terminal to instruct the access terminal to cease transmission.

摘要: Method and apparatus for transmission of information in multiple access communication system is described. Information from a plurality of access terminals is received. Alternatively, an access terminal determines what information needs to be sent to the access point. A determination is made as to whether sufficient resources, such as time, power level, or channels, are available to send an indication of acknowledgment. If sufficient resources are not available at the given time, the transmission of an indication of acknowledgment is delayed until sufficient resources are available.

摘要: The disclosure relates to systems and methods for controlling a delay probability distribution associated with receiving a response to a page. The method entails performing a series of page operations, wherein each page operation entails transmitting a page and scanning for a page response. The method further entails adjusting at least one timing parameter associated with performing the series of page operations based on a characteristic of one or more scans for the page performed by the at least one remote device. The characteristic may be the period of periodic page scans performed by the at least one remote device.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate dynamically scheduling orthogonal resource sets for reuse by user devices to reduce inter-cell interference by evaluating an overall scheduling metric for each user device in a wireless communication region. The overall scheduling metric can be evaluated by determining a fairness metric for each user device in a wireless communication region, an overall channel peak desirability metric for each user device, and a channel delay desirability metric for each user device. The overall scheduling metric can be the function of the fairness metric and one or more of the overall channel peak desirability metric and the channel delay desirability metric. A user device with a highest overall scheduling metric score for a given round of dynamic scheduling can be awarded an orthogonal resource set.
