摘要: A method for inhibiting growth of microbes in a liquid having a pH equal to or greater than about 2.5 by using a filter bed assembly or filter for filtering the liquid having a metal-ion sequestering agent for removing designated metal ion from the liquid. The liquid is passed through the filter bed or filter for a sufficient time so as to substantially reduce the designated metal ion from the liquid.

摘要: An image receiving element is a composite of two or more extruded layers on a support including, in order, an extruded compliant layer, an extruded antistatic tie layer, and an image receiving layer that may also be extruded. The extruded compliant layer is non-voided and comprises from about 10 to about 40 weight % of at least one elastomeric polymer. This image receiving element can be disposed on a support to form a thermal dye transfer receiver element, an electrophotographic image receiver element, or a thermal wax receiver element. Two or more extruded layers can be co-extruded.

摘要: The invention relates to a base comprising a closed cell foam core sheet having a closed cell foam layer with a density gradient between the center of the core and the surfaces of the core. The invention also relates to a method of making such a base by adding a first concentration of a first blowing agent to a first polymer to form a first mixture, adding a second concentration of a second blowing agent to a second polymer to form a second mixture, and extruding the mixtures to form the closed cell foam core sheet. The invention also relates to a method of making such a closed cell foam core sheet base comprising the steps of adding a blowing agent to a polymer to form a mixture, melting the mixture, extruding the mixture from a die, and rapidly quenching the mixture against a high heat transfer surface.

摘要: A polymer composite comprising a thermoplastic polymer compounded with a phenolic antioxidant, an organo-disulfide antioxidant, and a silver-based antimicrobial agent. The specified combination of antioxidant stabilizers is superior in inhibiting undesirable discoloration of thermoplastic polymers in the presence of compounded silver-based antimicrobial agents. A process of preparing such a composite, comprising compounding the phenolic antioxidant and organo-disulfide antioxidant with the thermoplastic polymer prior to compounding the silver-based antimicrobial agent with the thermoplastic polymer.

The invention relates to a method of forming such an image receiver element, a printing system comprising an imaging material and the image receiver element, and a method of printing comprising obtaining an imaging material comprising a colorant layer; obtaining the image receiver element; superposing the colorant layer with the receiver element; and transferring colorant from the imaging material to the image receiver element.
